Well I'm off to Skiathos again, for the second time this year, can't be bad. I feel like a regular now hehe, I know just where to eat so as not to burn your purse, and where to avoid.
Have myself a nice scooter waiting, taking whole family sister/bro/dad/daughter etc....going to relax and get some sun.
Not been on here much in a while, since being at uni find all my time is well and truly accounted for, even now Im on summer break, seem to be busier. But its all in a good cause.
How is everyone doing anyway??
Anyway we go a week on Friday so wish me luck, I might not come back!
anyway if anyone is after any information about either Kos (Kefalos) or SKiathos just drop me a line
Sally xxxx
I remember you Sally, I got a lovely pic of you on Banana Beach!
cheeky
That's just what I thought as well.
Did you stay at the same place and visit the restaurant, i see it has received a poor write up recently.
I know there have been some changes, so are standards slipping ?
Plus absolutely nothing beats the view.
I have managed to find some lovely places though for a more Greek fare, you must make a trip up to the Panorama on the road up to Evangelistria, fantastic food just incredible views, highest taverna on the island i think, and also there is a place on Megali Amos, think its called Thessalonikis, just a wonderful place get some ouzo and loads of bits and just relax.
Anyway I have learned to totally avoid the harbour front, and found some lovely places.
looking forward to returning
I know the Panorama well but the Platanis is the highest taverna and is nearby at Profitas Elias give it a try next time the view is breathtaking.
oh yeah, dont be put off by the odd bad review, the windmill is still fantastic and in my opinion worth the extra money, sure your not going to eat there every night but it should be the highlight of your holiday.
See PM
It is good after a while knowing the best places to eat and chill and where to avoid.
The taverna on megali amos is good, in fact there are 2 there which are ok.
We also prefer to find places to eat away from the harbour, but occasionaly just sitting watching people and the boats is sooooooooooooo wonderful!
Have a great time, which I'm sure you will.... We will be back there again next year..
cheers Jan
Off on our first holiday to Skiathos in 57 sleeps (!) and would love some ideas of where to go and where to avoid. We want places with a bit of atmosphere but where they won't charge us the earth as we're tourists (eating and drinking-wise).
The place looks amazing!!!! We're staying in Skiathos Town.
Any help greatly appreciated!

One of the best tavernas in the town has to be Polykratis, it may not have the best views but the food and service are hard to beat. Its towards the back not far from the Acropolis crossroads. I would also recommend the Windmill, the location and views are fantastic. Save it for a special occasion.
Thank you! I have emailed the owners of the windmill to try and book a table but haven't heard back yet.
Hi, I have emailed you re: table at windmill
Ooh I loved the windmill restaurant - the food was gorgeous and the view and ambience was perfect. We stayed in Skiathos for a fortnight and went there twice.
Roadiegirl did you e mail to pam@thewindmillskiathos.com think this is a new e mail address
