We are two couple 20 and 24 and 20 and 22. Two of them have never been skiing before and me and the other have both been twice. For this reason we are wanting to go to a resort with good beginner and intermediate slopes (e.g. a lot of green/blue and red runs)
I have a friend who works for Neilsons company and so have been browsing through the brochures. We have found the resorts Pas de la cas, arinsal and soldeu in adorra.
Just wondering if anyone has stayed and skiied in any of these resorts and any information you could give me?
We are interested in saving cash and also would like to be near to the slopes and somewhere with a bit of nightlife.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Both resorts are excellent and have english ski instructors. For Begineers and intermediates I would recomend either of these venues. My personal favourite being Soldeu.
Soldeu is a great resort for beginners, and the drinks are so cheap there it's a wonder anyone ever gets up in the morning to go ski-ing....!
I've just booked a week in Pas de la Casa. What is it like? We needed to get an apartment for 7 so that was the only one we could find. Does it have a decent night life, and is it good for beginners? None of us have ever been skiing before.
We (boyfriend and i aged 23 & 25 at the time) went to Arinsal 4 years ago, my boyfriend is a great snowboarder and i am an ok skiier so we picked this resort for the variety of slopes. I managed to ski and tried boarding for the whole week and hardly used the same slopes more than one day as there were plenty to choose from, we stayed at the St Gothard hotel which was really lovely. The slopes are easily reached by shuttle bus (you can walk also it only takes 10 mins on foot), we used the bus as we were lazy! Night life was more than enough for us and drink prices were so cheap. Shopping in Andorra is also not to be missed, take loads of spending money with you and it you will still wish you had taken more! Everything is so cheap.
Have a good holiday wherever you go.

My mate and I stayed In Pas, in feb 2005. It was great. This was our first ski holiday, (although we learned to ski at the Tamworth snowdome) and everything was spot on.
We booked with crystal ski, about 2 weeks before going and got the lot (flights, 1/2 board accomidation, ski hire & lift passes) for £500 each.
They had, had 1m of snow the week before we got there and it turned out that under the big lumps of snow on the sides of the roads were cars.
We stayed in the hotel camellot, which was a very friendly place. My only quibble was the beds were alittle small. The location was spot on though, opposite the hire shop, and 2 minutes walk from the chairlifts.
The area is great value for money, because as we got more confident and started using the red runs, this opened up the 4 skiing mountains which our ski pass covered. the one day we skied them all, which was great, although my legs stopped working for a short while afterwards.
As far as the apres ski goes, there were a good few places to go, but when we went the ratio was 150 men :1 woman. so good luck fellas.
All in all a good place to go for first timers, as the ski schools are good (apparently) and there is alot of terrain to explore, although the resort is not very picturesque.
