Now that public places in England are smoke free and some parts of Europe, could someone tell me what the laws are in Cyprus if there is any?. We ate out a few times as we were half board and the restaurants allowed smoking at the tables but had no area's for non smokers which was a bit annoying.
This isn't a post having a pop at smokers so please lets not get into a slanging match , I just want to know how it stands, that's all.
Cyprus like Greece has no smoking laws not as harsh as the UK, the other thing is they are not generally in-forced, Most hotel dining rooms are non smoking , but most small taverns are not some of the larger ones have non smoking areas.. you cant stop a Greek smoking whist in the filling station, to stop him elsewhere is going to be an uphill task
I did notice it wasn't allowed in the hote;l restaurant.
One of our local bars tried to enforce the no smoking law on the 1st day it came in....
All those who found they had to sit in the outside covered area complained so hard and said they weren't coming back ever....
The next day - smoking was allowed anywhere in the bar
It really only seems to be hotels and restaurants that have tried to adhere to the new regulations.

I thought that smoking was almost compulsory in Cyprus!!
In the office I work part-time, all the British staff go outside on the balcony or to the kitchen area to smoke.
