Hi,
I've been reading the recommendations in this forum and the hotel reviews and I'm still confused about where to stay in the Algarve as there's so many lovely places to choose. I want to be everywhere as this will be my first visit to Algarve and I'm so excited :-)
My boyfriend and I are planning on spending a fortnight here on 11th September flying from Newcastle. Can't wait. It looks and sounds like a really lovely place. We don't want to be in the centre of tourist places but would like somewhere that's within 20 min walk of the beach & local town. Best of both worlds! We are looking at a budget of no more than £400 each including flights, which limits our options somewhat.
Can anyone recommend some good hotels/apartments within our price range.
It seems to be that booking a flight and hotel separately through Easyjet works out the cheapest as the travel agents seem to add lots of extras on so the final price is extortionate!!
Has anyone hired a private villa before? What are they like? What about booking nearer the time - is it cheaper?
Any recommendations and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Kizzy looks like you might be on our easyjet flight - Mon 11th Sept from Newcastle
I'll p.m. you with some details in an hour or so.
Your p.m. received and details are on their way to you.
p.m. message received. Thank you for the information. I will certainly be looking into it and let you know.
Gladys, where are you staying if you don't mind me asking?
You never know we might all bump into each other!
Gladys, where are you staying if you don't mind me asking?
Only if you spend a lot of time in bars !!
Isn't that what holidays are for - eating too much of the local cuisine and soaking up the sun with a ridiculous cocktail in your hand
Or, in some cases, a pint or 5 of Sagres!!!!!!!!!!!
We usually rent a villa and its definately cheaper if you wait until nearer the time. We booked 2 weeks before we were due to go last year and got a 2 bedroom villa in Guia with private pool, a/c etc for £299. The villa was really nice too. We like total relaxation during the day and its great having the pool outside your door. Guia doesn't have any nightlife apart from restaurants but there are plenty of villas nearer built up areas like Albufiera or Lagos.
If looking for an apartment/hotel look at

as they seem to be pretty good for prices and choice.
Lucky you have a Budget airline that flies to Faro as we have to get chartered flights from Glasgow and they are far more expensive.
Good luck with choice, mid Sept is a nice time to go.
Have fun and good luck.
