Hi Les

Blue Spice is a good choice. You will find lots of recommendations for this, and other places, if you do a search of the Cyprus forum using the phrase Blue Spice.

There's two newish ones that I plan on trying on my next trip in May:
- Cava Restaurant in Paralimni
- Just Italian in Kapparis

You're spoilt for choice! Maybe best to wait until you're there and have a chance to look around.

Hey - if we are going in May then there's plenty of time to do a recommendation for LesB

Hmm...Posh that does egg and chips...the only one I can think of is Victoria Beckham ?

Pity you leave the day we arrive, Ady, we could've shared the experience... :(

Maybe the Phoenix might lay on a slap-up brunch for Les? Or maybe the Grecian Park?

If you don't mind getting a taxi to Ayia Napa there is a lovely Mexican place called Los Banditos (which I'm sure your kids will also enjoy). It is a fun restaraunt but the food is also beautiful. I would advise booking as as it is so popular.

Another lovely place in Ayia Napa is a Japanese called Hokkaido. If you go there make sure you get a seat where the chef's put on their show (lots of fire and juggling knives!!) And the and the food is top notch!

i quite like the sound of the japanese place

i'm willing to try something different as long as its not fish or anything thats lived in water (except prawns or shrimps)

Les, you can spend a few minutes (!) looking at my eating out page - lots of places don't have their own websites, so I've scanned their business cards and/or have photos.

You really are spoilt for choice.

Unfortunately, there are no local shellfish even though Cyprus is surrounded by water.

There is also a Japanese restaurant in Protaras. It's in Eden square. The chefs cook your food right in front of you, and it tastes delicious! Definitely somewhere a bit different and special! There is also a lovely Italian in Penera called La Cultra del gusto. The food here is amazing, they do both the usual Italian aswell as Steaks and other stuff. Hope this helps!

thanks marion and keane

i quite like the look of the place called mcdonalds :D

on a more serious note the corner restaurant and the andama restaurants both look very nice

i've saved the link to my favourites maybe it should be pinned in the forum then people can post there own views and opinions on the restaurants and bars in the lists, and maybe even come up with a holiday truths user star ratings system for them

I've made a sticky for favourite restaurants within the forum. Hopefully Kath won't mind me interfering in her forum

Great meals in there Ady, and of course you can dress up, well I did wear a false beard there last September lol.

To be fair its good prices, Barry is a good chef and Yvonne is a good hostess. Can you really go wrong.

I do have that as my favourite in Pernera and then of course I have the Protomare in Protaras as my other favourite.

Great eating out page. I went through the whole list and found lots of places we ate at last year but forgot the names of. :D :D :D

Thanks, John-Maria, glad it's useful. I have some more to add when I get time.

And I don't recommend Cava having eaten there recently. YMMV.

Does anybody know the name of the takeaway by the Capo Bay Hotel.
It's in between two restaurants and overlooks fig tree bay. It does the best takeaway chicken kebabs we had last year. It's also cheap considering the location and fantastic view. Very nice and friendly staff too ? :D

Hi Marion

We are going to Protaras on Friday and had earmarked Cava as a possible place to eat, thanks to the recommendations earlier. Did you have a bad experience there? Was the food poor?

Thanks
Ann
