Im going to italy in April and have 1 night in Rome. I am looking for somewhere safe and resonably cheap to stay for myself and female friend. I have heard the area around the station (where all the hostels and cheap hotels seem to be) isn't very good, especially for females. Is this true? there seems to be many reports of pickpockting from there on this website!
As we only have a day in Rome, i think being near the centre would help so we can see as much as possible without traveling along way to/from the hotel.
Any thoughts/ ideas gratefully received!! Thanks
I'd say best area to look for is Near Piazza Navona or Spanish Steps (near Spagna metro station).
Scroll down to an item headed Rome Hotels. There may be something there which interests you.
Thanks- have had a look at the hotels reccommended and they seem quite expensive (maybe i am underestimating the cost of hotels in rome? ). Can anyone reccommend a decent hostel!?!
this bed and breakfast is good (ive just found the website for itfor some one else ive sstyed here before and like it (my italian friend books it for us as he says the prices are really good for the location)
