I am looking for a destination like Rhodes Old town. Went their a couple of years ago and loved it. Plenty of character, old cobbled streets, history - not like uk or too commercialised. Large enough with things going on -not too quiet.
help, help, help. Went to Marmaris, Turkey last year and loved the old town area but Cyprus - paphos this year - hated it - nothing of any character.
Have 2 girls aged 8 and 6 and they love a pool, not beach, so a perfect combination would be good hotel with fab pool and Rhodes type town for us,

Try Malta. Valetta would give you the old town bit (designed & built, like Rhodes, by the Order of St John). Beaches on Malta are at a premium, but most decent hotels have good pools to compensate.
It is a small island, and fairly easy to get around, and there a some excellent hotels there.
