We can get away for a week in late Jan/early Feb 08 and wondered about Gambia.
We would like somewhere comfortable/luxurious 5 star level.
A couple of years ago we enjoyed kenya, safari/beach but found the beach boys/sellers a bit of a pest . Research on Gambia indicates that this is even more of a problem so are there any places where the beaches are more private and secure from the sellers ? Any good hotels to be recommended ? We just want a week of quiet, peaceful sunshine/beach/ good food/drinks etc.... a nice rest.

The Kairaba Hotel, Kololi fits all you would need, set in beautiful gardens beach front with security so if you don't go out of the hotel you would be fine, we are going again in December as we did last year. We do go out in Kololi to eat. see http://www.kairabahotel.com
