South Vietnam?

Our son is currently in Vietnam. He is at Mui N e and was thinking of going to either Dalat or Nha Trang in the north. However he doesn't like the thought of 5-6 hours bus travel with no aircond - and daytime temperatures of 40degrees. They are now thinking of travelling South. Any ideas of places to go?
Nha Trang- I am surprised the journey time is so long- it is in the north. He should ask around for a recommended booking agent. We found a great one in Saigon. Prices for travel to Nha Trang I remember thinking were low and in a/c coaches. I hope he has been to Delta!
