great that is really helpful - thank you. Were you self catering? What did you do re breakfast and lunch? Or did you eat out for all three meals. Am delighted if £50 a day is all we need! Have heard the boat trips are good - do you recommend the one you went on?

Hello we had bed and breakfast at our hotel so that was fine because we had a fridge in hotel we brought bread from there local supermarket which is called AZDA a small bottle of water in supermarket is 20p and large is 40p we also brought a pack ot two tomatoes and a really tiny cucumber worked out to about 50p and then some sliced cheeze we also took some small plastic knifes and a couple of plastic disposable plates.. this served a lunch problem To be honest its that hot you drink more than eat... so come night time we out hisaronu the dolmus 2.50tl each from olu to hisronu was the cheapest for meals some bar prices were anywher between 16tl to 32tl the average meal e- was about 25tl each a full english breakfast in chinese ( i know) worked out to £2.40 each or you could get a full english in a bar was a little more though cheaper than olu denize we had a three course meal in a chinese/indian eat all you can buffett for 5.80TL in hisaronu..
We went to fetye for our boat trip the dolmus cost 7tl for two adults from olu deniz.
Though you book in fetye the company we went with picked us up from our accomidation and returned us in the evening all that for £10-00 and a meal thrown in your out from 9 in the moring and return back around 6.30 in the evening ithere are that many to choose from along the harbour of fetye ..
Hope you have a lovely holiday we are talking about returning next year if all goes well...

thank you for taking the time to type that all out - sounds very reasonable to me. We intended buying fruit and cereal and some rolls and fillings so that we cater for ourselves breakfast and lunchtime and i thought id stock up on bottled water. My husband only has a couple of beers, i like a few drinks but nothing extortionate but only in the evening and as you say if its been so hot you probably dont want alcohol anyway! We will eat out every night with our daughter and ihad budgeted on £100 per day buts that to cover any trips too and a bit of shopping at the market (my daughter is 13 and loves to shop!). Sounds like we have more than enough money from what you are saying and hopefully will come back with some too. Once again thank you very much.

This is just a thought on bottled water and you may already have realised this. It is probably one of the most important things you will need to buy there and you will need a lot of it. Buy it in the biggest bottles that you can carry and then decant it into smaller ones each day for when you are out and about, it will be much cheaper. Throw a plastic funnel in your suitcase to make it easier. I read an article a while back stating that plastic bottles can contaminate water with carcinogenics when they get warm so we take our metal cycling bottles with us with cooling covers. They clip onto bags and backpacks.
