Hi there,
depending on how much you and the bh like to consume, alcohol wise, really depends on how much you will need, so take these prices as a yard stick,
large beer aprox £ 1.50
local spirits aprox £ 2.30, imported spirits £ 3.00
cola / fanta aprox £ 0.75
food varies depending on what you want, chicken / steak dinner will set you back about £ 7.00.
if it's any help at all, I used to work on about £ 50.00 per day, but over the years this cost has risen quite a bit, so depending on how frugal or extravagent you are depends on how much you will need, but I would be looking at about a grand for 2 weeks.

Hey,

I usually take around £400 for a week. This covers everything from food at the airport on the way out, then breakfast/lunch every day, plus out every night, and airport on the way out, as well as a 1 or 2 excursions. And we usually come home with change (around £50, sometimes more, sometimes less).

We go with friends, and all take about this much.

Just my two pence!

Thanks for your help :)

We think we're going to have just over a grand between us.

I'm just worried we're not going to have enough. Neither of us have been abroad without parents before so we've no idea how much to take and we don't want to be running out after the first week.

Suppose we'll just have to be careful.

Half your money if you look like your spending more than £500 in first week you know you will have to slow down a bit. That way you know you will have enough money to last the fortnight.

What we normally do is take what we think is enough money and take the cashline card. That way if we do run out we can always nip to the nearest bank and withdraw money

Work out how much cash you have, divide it by 14, and only take that amount out of the safety deposit each day. My wife and I budget for £50 a day each but my daughter gets by quite happily on £35 a day.

Hi there, like zog we used to do the dividing money into how many days we were there for and it worked really well. we would try and save any serious spending till the end of the holiday if we had any money left over we hadnt spent 8) .
we still try and do that to some degree but I always end up getting extra cash out the wall (no willpower me  ).
Have a good read through the posts here for prices and try to guesstimate how much you would need for the day and allow a bit extra.
have a lovely holiday

We budget £100 per day, but hardly ever touch that, mostly around £50-60 per day, but it means at the end of the hols we can splash out a bit.

my wife and i are going on 11th may, we are aking £1000. our first week we do nothing and spend little, 2nd week we go for it and do all the rips and shopping. , we also find doing our shopping later in the evening give us more barter power as the shop keepers are getting tired. lol
