could be ricard?
Bet there are loads , lol. There's also one called Anise...love Linda.
Could be "chin-chon" which is anise and comes in dulce(sweet) or seco (dry)
Very much like pernod and its what the Spanish drink, especially after a meal to aid digestion when you have eaten too much.
You have it with ice and wait until the ice has made the clear liquid cloudy or milky before sipping it.
It is very refreshing and also cleans the palate....but beware, you only need one, otherwise it will blow your head off.
The Spanish in Benidorm introduced my hubby to the drink.

My bottle says Hierbas and has some plant life in it, if that is what you mean.
I got it for the digestion, but didn't know I had to have ice as well. I just drank it neat.

I think Hierbas is a local Ibizian herbal spirit - at least that's what I was told, but no doubt it can be bought all over Spain. I usually try the local "concoctions" when I'm away and another "good ??" one is Becherovka, a similar thing which I bring back from Prague.

can't recall the name but the one I am thinking of comes in green or red labelled bttles depending on whether it is dulce or seco and the bottles have a criss cross pattern engraved in the glass.
There are about a 101 different variations on French pernod, most of which rip off the style of Ricard on the labelling.

One of my favorite drinks in UK is Pernod and lemonade and when in Spain and Majorca and Malta I often drink Anisette and it is not so strong as Pernod so I can drink it with or without lemonade.
I do also like the Hierbas dulce but it is quite different to Pernod or Anisette.
Yesterday my husband bought me a packet of Aniseed balls and I am enjoying them as just as I did when a child(Many years ago!!)
