Hope someone can help.....
we are looking to go to the carribean for two weeks at New year. We being my husband and me, plus our 14 year old son. He's at an age where he doesn't want to share our bedroom, but is too young to have his own room possibly away from us. The ideal would be a one bedroomed suite (bedroom with a seperate lounge area.)
We are not overly bothered which part of the carribean we go to, and have a budget of about £4,500.
Please please can anyone help who has been in this situation????? as I am going cross eyed looking at the accomodation details of every single hotel on the TO websites
The Iberostar Costa dorada in the dominican republic is a 5 star hotel with junior suite rooms... would imagine well within your budget and a truly great hotel. 15 - 20 mins from Puerto plata airport and lots of activities at the hotel for your teenager to enjoy if he so wishes. It is arguably the best hotel in the Dominican rep.
Only problem is, having looked at the hotels own website, also several travel agents websites.....it seems that the junior suite you mention, is not a separate room, , it seems to be described a 'cosy seating area' and is mentioned as being integral to the main bedroom. Can anyone tell me otherwise? because, other than that the dates and cost etc are perfect!
Edit: I have just noticed that this hotel has its own thread running....looks as though lots of you have stayed here.....has anyone actually stayed in one of these junior suites please?
I've stayed at the Sirenis twice in the suites with my Mum and was thinking of taking hubby the next year, when I mentioned this to Gregorio in reception he said they would move one of the beds into the living area as the sofa bed wouldn't be big enough for an adult. Then First Choice pulled it from their brochures.
(please note the Sirenis Cocotel, although on the same site is only rooms)
