Got my brochures! Co-op Travel had them all this afternoon - First Choice, Thomson, Thomas Cook and Airtours, and all the variations on the main brochures (families, specialist, budget etc). Looking forward to nice evening flicking through them all now!

You had better luck than me! Went into Thomas Cook shop where they had a sign on the window saying 2009 hols on sale from 17th April. It was around 4.30 and I thought they might just let me have a brochure, they said come back tomorrow.

Anybody know when i can book a holiday for 2009 online at thompson etc..
Now the brochures are now out thought i would be able to compare prices on line and take these prices in to the shop ????

POSSIBLY TOMORROW, I WENT AND BOOKED MINE IN THE FIRST CHOICE SHOP TODAY, oooops sorry caps lock on :whoops

just watch the baggage allowance, first choice are charging £17.50 per person for 5kg, as now they only allow 15kg in suitcases!

have checked the small print, and still think we should have had 20kg, so if you make a booking, just check what you are entitled too, baggage wise :)

Does anyone else think that the prices have gone up for next year or is it just me?, also when priceing up online i am noticing that their are no free child places coming up. Am i going completly mad or am i just stupid!

I have only had a browse online briefly but not impressed with prices.

Ok , I have 3 kids and I want to go in school holidays but every package to turkey was in excess of 2500k and I could not find a FC place.

I won't be rushing to book , I've never paid over 1600 for my DIY deals for all of us and the prices would need to be about 1800 to tempt me in to going with a tour op.

Airtours seem to be the most expensive and I cant get any prices on first choice.

As I have said on another thread, I have looked at booking the same hotel for the same two weeks next year. £5000+ :yikes only cost us £2200 this year!! No free child places to be seen anywhere!!

Hi, i've compared this year's holiday on the Direct Hols website for the same time next year and it's coming up as £500 more, no free child place and also whereas this year we were allocated a 1 bed apt to keep the cost down it now only gives the option of a 2 bed. Have also looked at Airtours and the prices are even more. If they don't come down in price then it'll be back to holidaying in this country for 2009.

Just to add the above post, I've since phoned Direct Hols and they do have free child places on some holidays but these are not showing yet on their website. To give an example, I priced up 2 weeks next August to Protaras self catering for 2ad and 2ch. Web price was £2496, the price I got over phone £2159 so definately worth calling if you are thinking of booking.

Holiday I booked this year with Mytravel has gone up £300 for next year, but the hotel I orginally wanted this year and thought was a bit expensive has come down over £350 cant fathom out the logic.

You can book online now with Thomson for next year's holiday. Just priced up a hotel where we stayed in the Dom Rep in 2004 and it's actually cheaper next year :really
