Rip off- playa den bossa 6E for sunbeds, and 6E for umbrella. We paid 24E on our first day- we didnt get them again- bought 3 cheap lilos, and an umberella- all for under 20E and used them for the full 2 weeks!

Don't get me going about the prices of food/drinks- A totally rip off resort-

The sunbeds were on from our hotel don toni. Not the plush padded ones either!

We only ate out a few lunch times- as we were half board- wouldn't know what what they were called as to be honest it was no interest to me what the restaurants/cafes were called.- but the ones we called in at were along from our hotel- along that strip(Until you get to the end where the mijorn apartments are). Pizza and drink 12E

Buy one vodka- get one free 8E!! (Only caught out the once)

Even the supermarket prices were ridiculous.

Luckily we found uno's after our second night-

did you go in the place just on the corner near mijorn apartments.if you turn right passed this place you can get to the beach.they are normanlly very good and cheap.you see that strip is not really cheap.with it begin near space getting that trade and they know people from d/t dont fancy walking far.if you had walked into pdb main street.it gets a little cheaper.the beds are private now owned by the new bar.so they charge alot.shame you did not enjoy it.

i can get a lunch.with chips and a drink for 6 euro.bar next to uno;s.or you could have walked to big ben.and had a burger king or pizza deal.i even nip in the sal rossa atps on the beach for lunch sometimes.and i only pay 6/7 for a meal and drink,

apart from the rip offs.did you faminly enjoy there hols

Hi bellybally,we've stayed at the Bahamas4 years out of five.It used to be Fiesta Hotel and we've always upgraded to at least the drinks option, sometimes food too, didn't anybody suggest that this would have been a much cheaper option for you, especially if you have children with you.

i just looked on a site called 'pizza express' where a pizza and drink will set you back £10 to £12. it seems like it's a rip off in britain too?

I wouldnt pay £12 in uk either (or anywhere else) for a pizza and drink!

Having said that - I think I was a bit harsh saying "Rip off resort"- after 2 days of paying ridiculous prices for food and drink-(The strip from don toni to the end- (Just before mijorn apartments). When we went further afield- we did find a few bars and places to eat which was reasonable. If we had stuck to that certain strip- we would have prob been skint by the end of the week. I can definately recommend uno's ,- a little supermarket where you purchase your drinks, and can take them outside to drink- they will even provide glasses (and ice), and their is a pool table, air hockey etc.. to keep the kids amused! The cafe/bar next door- which is run by a lovely spanish couple, they do lovely baguettes, cheese burgers etc.. and their kitchen is that clean- you could eat you food off their floor- such lovely lovely people. - Sorry for going :offtop

I still think the 6E for a sunbed was ridiculous (Apparantly further down the beach it was cheaper) although we didn't know that at the time- as they were loads of signs up for 6E, and I never saw any up offering them cheaper- the sunbeds near our hotel - must have only been occupied by a handful of people- and if they had reduced the cost they would have hired out a lot more- and made money at the same time-!

Gosh I was thinking about Ibiza for next summer and having seen these prices think it is a bit of a no no now. :( Shame as haven't been for some years and really enjoyed it before. I've never paid 12 quid for a pizza and drink in PE in my life, and they are really upmarket pizza places, all blond wood and crome and decent service and I certainly wouldnt want to buy 4 x 12 just for lunch in Ibiza at those kind of prices, we would be broke in a few days, especially if they are beach and sea front type restaurants with horrible plastic chairs etc surely there is something better.

Surely you don't have to go up back streets to get reasonable type prices ?

I will also need 4 sunbeds and two parasols so maybe this is going to make it untenable :(

In front of the hotel Milord in San Antonio Bay it was 6 Euros for a sun bed and a further 6 Euros for an umbrella. On responding to other replies about prices in the resort I found San Antonio bay quite reasonable. OK some bars and restaurants are expensive as anywhere else, however it is generally cheap. I drunk in many bars but a classic example was 2 pints lager, 1 glass of wine and a coke averaged around 7 Euros. It only became expensive when you bought imported beer. Food was also reasonable especially in Vincent's bar with for example cheeseburger chips and salad at 3 euro and a 12oz sirloin steak chips and salad (or Veg) at around 11 Euros.
