Has anybody been to the sunflower beach hotel,in kremasti rhodes.?i can`t find any feedback on this hotel anywhere.
Thanks.
Yes i know the Sunflower very well! I used to live in Kremasti and used to visit the Sunflower most days as it's got a lovely swimming pool. It's not a huge pool but big enough and nice garden around it - if you don't want a sunlounger you can just lay a towel on the soft grass by the poolside. There's a small snack bar/shop just a few steps down from the pool - very handy for cooling drinks.
The Sunflower (like most of Kremasti) is on the flightpath for Rhodes Airport so there is some aircraft noise but it's something you soon get used to and shouldn't really affect your holiday too much.
Kremasti is a lovely resort as it's still a 'real' greek village and has a great, friendly atmosphere. The beaches on this side of the island are not great but you have a nice pool at the Sunflower so this shouldn't be a problem. Kremasti is a also a great location for getting out and about with a very regular bus service to the neighbouring resorts/villages and Rhodes Town.
Unfortunately i don't know anything about the standard of the hotel rooms or food but a friend of mine was a rep there (several years ago) and had very few complaints.
Hope this helps

thanks for that marcus
During a weeks stay at the Sunflower Hotel in July 2005 we found that bein guests on the all inclusive package the hotel frequently ran out off necessary items for instance bottles of water in the evening (but there was water in the morning for breakfast), There was no coffee at 9:00am when breakfast finished at 9:30am, in another instance the Hotel ran out of Red wine and yet again another time we were told the Hotel had ran out of lemonade, this turned out to be a very frequent thing, we doubt stocks would have been so short if we were paying for these items individually.
Further more the Manager was rude and unapproachable. He was unwilling to give any assistance at all. There is a limited choice of food, for example no toast or fruit for breakfast, children are not catered for neither are fussy eaters. There is entertainment advertised, but this means karaoke twice and week and this ends at 11pm. The advertised weekly barbeque was cancelled.
Those who choose to pay the extra for an all inclusive deal on the understanding that we do not need to take as much spending money will be disappointed, as many guests ate out regularly.
This is such a shame as the hotel has great potential with its positioning, pool and garden areas.
Overall this was very unacceptable hospiatlity in a promising hotel.
