We stayed here a couple of years ago, and unlucky for us we had a bad time. At this time it was called the Sunrise Resort, before that is was the Sunrise Village, Side... now its called the Sunrise Resort Park & Spa, Side..... dont get confused with the Sunrise Queen also in Side.
However I can tell you this, and it's all good news........... friends we know also there at the same time re-booked to go this year( they returned just 2 weeks ago, after spending a fortnight there) as they have large family (2 adults and 3 teenage kids) rooms, and have a fab time, so much so they changed a booking they had made to go the Belek in Oct, and re book Sunrise for July 08..... They were alittle unsure of returning, but so pleased they did return with they family.
They said there were foam partys on a saturday evenings, all the food had improved, and the windmill with slides were so much safer, they heard of no accidents, there's also a wall climb attraction, at night there s huge screen ont he beach showing lastest films and this is all secured off, so only hotel guests can use, and theres secruity guards there so kids can go without parents, and the evening entertainment was now much more for the english than it was when t/cook transfered us all there ( we should of all been at the kaya hotel in side).. they even paid for a room up grade and got a jaccuzzi room, which is classed as vip as they had stayed before there.
They also said that during peak times, you now have to pay for the banana boats, and also horse riding.
The family rooms are the same as before, so I can tell you about these.
Ok, we had a family room which had a bedroom and in the lounge two wide sofa beds, we are kids loved they were very comfortable and wide. Mini fridge, filled at first with bottles of water and a couple bottles of coke, after that only bottles water is replaced. Bathroom was shower unit, sink and toilet.
Our friends had a 2 storey room with bedroom upstairs, and bedroom downstairs, and sleeping in the lounge area. Bathroom with bath / shower attachment , toilet & sink.
The hotel grounds are large, clean and well kept. Infact the hotel is perfect now they said, just a little way out of side is the only downside as the local shops are pretty basic, but for a short stroll in the evenings fine, you'll need to get a taxi into side, or go by boat is another option. Personally we hated this when we were there, as did our friends, however they told me only 2 weeks ago (as they have just returned) that this year as the hotel had changed so much for the better they didnt feel the need to escape like we felt when there, so again another plus point now.
And it must be good, cos the conviced me to book and met them there, which i nearly did,( if anyone read my report when we got back from that holiday, they'd be shocked to hear I would now consider returning) but we needed to go early in the year due to my daughter leaving junior school etc...and I ahve alsways wanted to try the Hemera, so we are going there instead
I really hope this helps you
Kindest regards
snow-white
Snow white when are you going to the Hemera?.I would love to go back as it was excellent.
We have booked to go to the Hemera 19th June' 08 for 2 weeks. Have been to the entrance twice on a t/coook coach doing the holiday drop off and pick ups, and have heard about the re fit over the winter months. 10 months to go and counting

Thanks Snow White for your comments, much appreciated. Still undecided what to do but youve def given me some 'food for thought'!
believe me faye i been to the hemera twice this year already and have booked to go back next may for 2 weeks , i may go to the end of this year aswell . you will not be disapointed with the hotel.
Hi spent two weeks there start of July - spotless, both inside and out! Nothing we could fault so much so have booked for next July. You'll get upto date reviews on Trip adviser but remember this is not Spain and there are a lot of Russians and Germans whose manners are not quite on par with ours but this didnt spoil out holiday, been on a/i in Spain and found the drunks there worse than them. You wont actually find anybody roaring drunk here as you would other a/i as the security deal with them (only seen 1 russian blootered the whole fortnight) Any questions feel free to ask (there were 11 in our party 6 adults 39-64 and 5 kids 8-15 so covers the whole spectrum!)
has anyone been to this hotel near side?we are looking at it for next june, but i cant find how long the airport transfer is?and the lady in my thomas cook was very rude so didnt ask her
trace,
