sunsets?

stupid question & half of the people we've asked who have gone to cyprus don't remember. but where on earth do you have to go to see the sun set into the sea in cyprus. because you can't see it from protaras, do you have to go to paphos to see it?? we had the same problem in playas americas in tenerife a huge mountain bloody blocking it

Paphos does have some lovely sunsets.
We have sat out on the balcony watching the sun go down many a time!!!

Thats the only downside that I can think of from Protaras........ ..... no Sunset pictures........
We normally hire a Car for 3 days whilst we are In Protaras........ where would the best place to go to witness a good Sunset be....... as close to Protaras as possible......... Thanks........
hi, i know i've brought this subject up again. but how much do you reckon we should be paying by taxi to go see the sunset in paphos & return price back to protaras?? or would it be worth hiring a car for 2 days? thanks

To be honest I'd hire a car for a few days and visit Paphos, Limassol, Pissouri,
take a trip up the Troodos and other places en route
There is so much to
see in Cyprus it would be a sin to miss it
They drive on the same side as us and petrol is cheap

is it straight forward driving there, i know they drive same side. but am worried about getting lost, or would that be hard to do?

It's a dawdle to drive over there and getting lost is nigh on impossible
The motorways are soooooo quiet compared to here. My hubby drives here
for a living and he'd rather drive over there any day

Obviously not setting over the sea, but the hills that form a backdrop to Larnaca Salt Lake.
The sun sets in the west, so you will have to be in an area with the sea to its west.
The furthest east would probably be the Akrotiri end of Episkopi Bay.
Bearing in mind that this is Sovereign Base Area land, access may be limited.

You'll get a fantastic picture of a sunset from the stopping point just past
Kourion Amphitheatre coming from the Limassol direction
Unfortunately mine are piccies (not digital) so I can't get them on to the laptop
right now

Not long now, eh? 4 weeks?
Get yourself a digital camera.
I spent almost 35 years using 35mm cameras, compacts and SLRs.
Digital is just brilliant!

This is a sunset piccy from our wedding in cyprus- it was taken at Cape Greco. We went back there for the next two nights after to watch the sunset there- it was an amazing view.
Cape greco is not far from Ayia Napa or Protaras
