I've just booked a trip here for July 2010 (so far away!), and have never stayed in the caribbean before. I was just wondering if anyone could enlighten me a bit about the all inclusive. What do they mean by 'international branded drinks'? Also, i have read that you can book to eat in the a-la-carte resteraunts, but whenever ive tried this before, it has been such a pain to do, i haven't bothered. Is this the case here?
thanks for your advice in advance!
International Branded drinks means just as it says. You can get not only local drinks, but also those brewed elsewhere.
The a-la-carte restaurants will indeed need to be prebooked. You go to the reservations desk in the morning and can book 3 days in advance. We never had any problems getting a table but you may have to be a little flexible on the time as the most popular times get booked very quick.
Please refer to my trip report from last year: http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=127477
If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

So can I expect to order bottles of corona at the bar for free? That would be awsome! I'm also intersted INS fishing trip while I'm there, only a half day or so. Any info regarding this would also be a massive help. And please be quick. I travel in 14 months!
In fact you wont get any bottled beer all the beer will be draft. They have three brands Aruba Balashi,Heineken, and Miller Light.
I stayed in the sister hotel the Divi Aruba next door, they served Miller on draught Carsberg the the local beer which was what i drank mostly one of the best Holidays i've had, i would certainly go back sometime but the wife likes to try somewher new each year, so its cape verde this year.
The other local brew in this area is Amstel Bright. Hold on-you won't be getting anything for free-although you won't have to pay at the bar, you have simply paid in advance. With AI, the more you consumethe better the value...
