Hi we went to the costa brava pineda/calella last year and didn't find it too expensive, it can be as cheap or as dear as you make it , i'm sure if you drink the local beers /wines /spirits then all will be ok , but if you want brand names then expect to pay a bit more for them .
I'm thinking of booking this hotel with kids ages of almost 16yrs and 19yrs. Anybody know if it'll be too much of a family hotel for teenagers?
Hi Kay, Ive just got back for the taurus three weeks ago, to be honest i dont really think that the hotel or the resort is really geared up for teenages. Its more for family with younger children.
I'm afraid I have to agree with Shelley. We've been twice, and whilst it's a fantastic hotel for families with younger kids, I don't think there's enough to keep teenagers interested. The same goes for Pineda itself. You might be better off looking at neighbouring Calella.

Our flight lands at 7.30pm and then we've got to get our transfer, so hopefully we should arrive before 9. Wanted to know if we were going to be able to make it to dinner or not?
we haven't had are holiday yet to the taurus (going 16th august) but i have read in the reviews that dinner finishes at 9pm can't confirm this though. if you miss dinner im sure there will be snack bars open for you to buy something. we will be arriving in the morning as our flight is 6.55am.
have a great time when are you going.

We're off on the 7th August, next week. Really looking forward to it.
Hope you have a great time, you'll definitely be there in time for dinner!
delays at the airport, then over an hours drive from airport and then the dropping off at other resorts and hotels , thats if you got transfers , different if you are hiring a car . There are places open along the front that you will be able to buy meals or snacks from ,one or two places close to the hotel .
Does anyone know if there's internet available at this hotel?
Yes there is internet, cost is something like 1 euro for 10 mins I think.
Thanks Jules. I´m on it now!
LOL! Hope you're having a great time you lucky so and so!
Had a great time Jules! Thanks to all who recommeded the Taurus Park! And the internet! Roll on next year!
Looking forward in going back to the G Taurus went first week in June and now staying again in Sept.
A very busy hotel ideal for my five year old, enjoyed the facilities such as swimming pools, entertainment, hotel run kids club and general ambience around the hotel. All entertainment staff very professional and always smiling!!
Food fine but restaurant can be busy but is to be expected in such a big hotel.
Thanks to Ryanair and independent travel operators we can afford a good holiday in sunny Spain, hope sun is still shining in mid Sept!!
am going with hubby and 3 children 5,6,and 10 who love previous thompsons holidays
could you tell me if this is good place to go and what type of food they do i have a fussy husband
is there places near if you want to go and eat
and should i book two adjoining rooms or a family suite as same price
thanks a million for advise waiting to book
We are considering going back again this year, so if that's anything to go by!!!
My fussy husband loved the food!
He would even stake out the kids buffet.
Breakfast was his fav and most days we wouldn't need anything to eat until evening meal time apart from a lolly.
We never struggled to find platefuls of food.
There are places just on the front and to the side, the chickens on a spit plce looked fab, Pepe's just outside the entrance, aswell as a supermarket where we bought our drinks from for quite a bit less than the hotel vending machines. My husband also liked the the vending machine toasties for supper. think they were about 2E in the hotel reception.
We booked a family suite are in the newer part of the hotel if you get/ask for a pool view as said get a sea view too, plus there's on'y about 3 or 4 floors. The pool this side was quieter too and most of the daytime entertainment went off round the busier pool.
The room had a seperate bedroom with wardrobes. The other room had 2 beds which used as sofa during day but were real beds not other way round. Another large wardrobe, chair, bench, dresser with tv on. If you have 2 connecting rooms then you'll have 2 bathrooms and 2 tv's.
The Animations teams daytime programme was excellent, my husband doesn't normally join in but he was off playing football, archery etc.
The team also do an evening kids club 10pm till 11.30 which gave us some time to relax on our own. Both our 6 and 10 year old loved to go. They prefered the Animation teams clubs to Thompsons, my 10 year ols went once to Thompsons and wouldn't go back.
The only thing making me undecided is that I've already been here and would like to go somewhere different this year, but if the price is right I won't hesitate to go back!!
Me & the family stayed at the Taurus Park in 2007, we had 2 interconnecting rooms which were pool facing. We are going there again this year & staying in a family suite. Does anyone know where in the hotel the family suites are located.
but I just had to write. Oh my God!
Is Pepe's Bar still open outside the hotel?
Surely this can't be the same Pepe's bar that we used to visit as children. Our very first hol abroad was to the Hotel Taurus park. I was 9 and Helen T was 14 ( over 35 years ago) I definitely remember a Pepe's bar near the hotel
Yes Pepe's bar is still there. I went 28 years ago and last year and still remebered alot even though I was only 7 or 8.
