I cannot get into the article. What does it say?

Well Maharashtra is just 50KM 'up the road' from N Goa and they are VERY keen to open up to tourism. Might be great for those who want to find quieter beaches!

If the airport is on the edge of Maharashtra/Goa it might be only the same distance to travel to North Goa from Dabolim.

There's a lot of disquiet over this as already big hotel developers have their eye on the N Goa area of Querim. I was told about this the year before last. It's kind of inevitable that Maharashtra get in on the action as it has a lot of beaches and needs the money.

I,ve also been told that the big hotel groups also have options on lots of prime site just over the border in Maharashtra right on the best beaches so they will be kean for a new airport to get the go ahead, and if the airport was situated there, it would suit their purpose. Mind you the way things drag on in Goa and elswhere in India, I dont see any speedy conclusion to this affair Alan

Colleen more reason to use the Goverment Approved Taxi office opposite the airport exit, the price is sorted before you get in the taxi they give you a chit with the price, you arrive at your destination and pay the driver the agreed amount......no haggling involved....Keith

Perhaps we should all refuse to use taxis, unless they get their meters fitted.
