Taxis are plentiful in Limassol - that's who is pipping their horns at you as they go down the street - they are touting for business, and you will soon get used to it!
Taxis are safe, as long as you follow a basic rule - before you get into the taxi ask them if they work with a meter, or at least agree a price for the journey before you get in. Taxis by law have to work by meter, but like everywhere in the world, there are some drivers that would charge you more if they could!! By asking them if they have a meter, you are letting them know that you know all about it, and not just a "green" tourist!

^ thats a handy tip to know, I wasn't aware of that !.. although through more luck than skill, we always asked how much it would be before getting into one... (but that seems to be what you have to do back in the UK, so you get used to it)

I've used the busses all over they are quite cheap but most dont have Aircon and can get verry hot the one we used last july had half the windows taken out

Have managed to get a late deal for this week going to Tskosos (spelling might be wrong !) Beach in Protaras. First, has anyone been recently and if so whats it like (checked the reviews, but wondered if anyone had been in September or even beginning of this month)
Second - have to get a taxi from the airport - can anyone let me know how much I should expect to pay for this.

We used Grab that cab( Paul) in Sept excellent service,still waiting for us even though we were 2hrs delayed.Excellent service.
Paul is a member of these Cyprus sites and helps lots with valuable info I would rather book with him and know there was some one meeting me saves on a lot of stress and queueing when you get there.

Thats a useful link to have as it saves me £10 CY everytime I go as normally Larnaca to Pernera is £30 CY.
Hi Helen....... another piece of advice regarding Taxis.
Before getting into a Taxi, always ask how much the fare will be, to the place where you want to go. That way they cant put the price up once theyve told you.

Thats why its better to pre book you will not have that problem with The Cabbie

We paid £21cy last August, barter they will always come down in price and meet you from the airport with the name of your party on a board. i have a few names if you want the information, PM me. They spoke English as well.
I recommend Grabthatcab too-excellent.
