Just back from albufiera last night. Its lovely and hot squares all finished and looks great only one problem..........where are all the taxis. We stay in montechoro but walk into old town most days after few hours shopping and temperatures of over 30degrees we could not get a taxi back to strip. we waited twice in blistering heat in queues for over 35minutes to get a taxi. At night we uaually get reception in hotel to phone for one but this year they told us the companies have their phones off the hook dont take orders. When we went to taxi rank we waited ages on one appearing.Maybe someone who stays there can shed some light on why this is now happening. Is there less taxis. Is there too many people. It did spoil our evenings a bit as some nights we just stayed in the strip to safe the hassle of long queues coming back at night. Theres nothing better than wondering the old town at night and the strip is fine when you are in your 20s but not for the late 40s
