there is one nice beach at LC and there is a nice harbour. I think the best thing is the front, you can walk all the way to PDLA. There are loads of shops, bars, restaurants etc on route. Obviously, not all hotels are right on the sea front, but many are just a very short walk away, literally a couple of hundred yards. IMO, some places look a little tatty, but there are many improvements going on at the minute. I enjoyed our stay at Atlantida and LC was a good place to use as a base to explore the rest of the island...i am sure if you went there you would find soemthing to suit you, but it's all a matter of personal taste.
We like the Bitacora in Playas - my kids loved it ages 14,12 & 9. We are to the Noeila Sur in July im hoping that they are child friendly also.
