Hi nikki, we are looking at going to the same place and i have been told it is roughly the same prices as here. We found Tenerife so expensive in the hotel but reasonable elsewhere, i would think menorca would have its own expensive/ reasonable places. We went to Ibiza few years back and it was the same there. Hope this helps even though we hav'nt been. karen

Hi. we went 8th May last year, for a week. Rained for 3 days and on the last day it was really windy. Still warm and i got a good tan (burnt). What kind of prices did you pay in tenerife? i have never been there but if u give me an exmple of a thing e.g a pint was roughly 3 euros. we went to Cala' blanes was a lovely place very quiet....

hiya samantha,
here is a rough price guide what we were paying in tenerife,
teatime- steak and chips, spag bol, 2x sausage and chips ( typical kids lol)
2 pints of local beer and 3 cokes roughly came to 35-45 euros.
beer was about 1.50 euro's for the local beer then probably 3.50 euro's for carling stella etc,
in the local shops cans of coke were 1.00e, bags of walkers crisps were 1.00e, but it was a tad cheaper in the supermarkets which i think happens everywhere. does this sound about the same as menorca, or is it cheaper ?
also when you say it rained for 3 days was that non stop rain or morning rain lol, also what kind of temp's was it when you went i was expecting maybe late 70's early 80's, am i expecting to much do you think ,? can you tell im panicking big time lol  thanx ever so much for your help ,nikki xx

Hiya we found it cheaper than here but dearer than the Canaries. But good value and lovely restaurants, especially round the harbour in Calan Bosch. Kids will be very well catered for!! I recall pizzas with decorations in the shape of parrots!! Weather is tough to predict. Menorca is the wettest of the Balearics but can be very warm too. We went July once and first week were roasted and second week rained nearly none stop!! Go prepared for the sun but bring the umbrella and rain macs too. Nice little play centre near the harbour with bouncing castles, etc. for the kids. You will enjoy it I promise :D

If you ask in the restaurants alot of them do set menus for I think about 10 euros? don't quote me on that price but they were a lot cheaper than the regular prices. They don't always advertise these but ask if them

We did not find eating out was to expensive

Generally big hotels price food and drink same as UK.
Over a pound for bottle water, over 2 pounds a pint of beer, over 5 pounds for lunch, and so on.

My advice is wander out hotel to a local bar or restaurant for a more friendly atmosphere and cheaper prices.
