I have just returned on Sunday. I booked this holiday with First choice in June for my me(female), my mother, my 13year old daughter and her friend. I then went on line to find out more and was very worried with all the bad things I read, the day before I went I read what Kiltedwarrior had posted and THANK YOU it gave me a glimmer of hope. I felt very strongly in writing today to say we had a FANTASTIC holiday and for anyone that is due to go.....enjoy. :D

Yeh i think we might have some....yes there is a hairdryer in the bathroom..they have pedaloes and windsurfs ect but i think they were free but wife thinks you had to pay for them(but i would think if you have to pay then it wont be much) there is a power boat that does those bananna boat rides and such and parascending (which was about 30tds for two at a time) but you can haggle on that!!!

I'm thinking of booking here for a week next October for a birthday suprise for my in-laws (they both turn 60 next year) for a group of 10 including 4 children aged under 6.

Anyone that's been there - is it good for the young kids? Also, what are the rooms actually like (can't tell from brochure) as there will be 2 rooms with 2 adults & 2 kids)?

Rooms are very clean but small, to be honest only went back to mine to shower & sleep. We had 2 single beds & 2 beds that doubled up to sit on. Never used the kids club but it looked good, most kids between 2 - 12 disappeared thoughout the day (abit like chitty chitty bang bang) but when they appeared they seemed happy and done shows and received certificates for things they had done thoughtout the day - I hope this helps. :) Personally I have never used kids clubs so if you prefer to keep them by your side another bonus is that there is always a lifeguard walking around even by the sea.

Hi all, I got back from the Thalassa yesterday and i had an amazing two weeks. The water sports on the beach, there are some that you pay for which are on the right hand side which include paragliding, jet skis etc and the price of the paragliding for one was 25tnd. The water sports in the middle of the sunbeds was all free and they included pedaloes, windsurfing, canoeing etc.

The rooms were very clean as was the hotel itself, it was just me in my room and i had a large double bed all to myself! The cleaning staff are always visible and they are cleaning the grounds all day.

There are security guards all around the hotel as you wander about which made me feel very safe. The Rep for First Choice, Sandra, was really great. She was so friendly and very very helpful at all times.

The staff at the resort, especially the waiters and bar men, they were always friendly and always willing to help and love the English as we are very few and far between.

The Beach is amazing, i took a walk all along the beach to visit a shop and i have to say that out of all the hotel alons the beach, the Thalassa has the best part of the beach and the most sunbeds also.

I also recommend the Desert Safari trip. It is a long and exhausting two days but one of the most amazing experiences you will ever have. I was too scared to ride the camels but seeing the sunset over the Sahara and the sun rise over the Dry Salt Lake is breath taking. And it is well worth the money to do also.

As everything is so fresh in my mind, i am happy to answer any questions anyone may have!

Is there an option to book a family room, are or all the rooms the same size. We always try to book somewhere where we have an apartment style AI or at least a partition between us.
Thanks to anyone who can help.
