Cheers Brian...
we stayed here in 2002. Situated along Nissi Avenue on the beach side of the road. Slightly closer to Sandy Bay Beach than the main Ayia Napa beach (10 minutes walk as opposed to 15 mins?). Quiet area so you'll get some sleep but all the nightlife is within walking distance, left out of the hotel for Nissi right for Napa itself (or better yet cross over the road and down the road by the side of Shopping Arcade past the Euronapa Apartments and a 2 minute walk finds you at the bottom of Ayia Mavris Street (Night Life Street??) and all the bars you could possibly want all the way to the Square. Blueberries Restaurant is also in this direction, first right on the road behind and parallel with Nissi Avenue. On the block to the right out of the apartments there's an Italian Pizzeria, a Chinese (or was it Japanese - or Korean?) restaurant, a pleasantly staffed Hire Car outlet, a chippy, a couple of supermarkets, The Norway Pub and best of all Gary's Bar, first stop on the way back from the beach every day, catch up on the news, read the papers etc. Good cheap grub (and apparently they do really good breakfasts, but I can't vouch for that!).
Apartments then were of a very high standard (still should be going by the prices!) Deposits were payable for Air Con/TV controllers but were refunded on departure. Nice grounds with large pool and small on site supermarket (3 others in 500m radius), pool bar serving snacks. Can't comment much on entertainment etc as we didn't hang around the apartments at all (why stay by the pool when the beaches are so beautiful?)
Don't think you'll go wrong staying there unless standards have dropped in the last couple of years. We'd go back!
Great location, great choice of food & brilliant staff!
Wish I was going lucky bugger! lol!
Enjoy your hols!
hi going here 13th july any tips on quiet room locations and e-mail adress of complex . many thanks
wouldn't worry too much about quiet rooms, we panicked a bit three years ago when we arrived to find we'd been allocated the room immediately behind and attached to the pool bar bit it never affected our holiday a bit.
cheers bootherim one of them who wakes at drop of a hat lol and need about 3 mins kip a night. are sea facing rooms any good or as u say is it ok with pool studio many thanks
Don't think there'll be all that many sea facing rooms, it's a kind of long thin development with most of the rooms in small clusters in 2 storey blocks with gardens between the blocks. It's a lovely place with a large pool and very well equipped. Air conditioning and TV controls are available for a deposit which you get back at the end of the holiday (at least that was the case when we last stopped there in 2002)
hi anybody know price of upgrading to half board or all inc at thease apts cheers
Hope it isn't too quiet.. About 10 of us going there this weekend aged 19 - 24! All lads!
hi, just returned from ayia napa, staying at thalassaki village, been to ayia napa approx 7 times and enjoyed imensley each time, knowing the nightlife as it is in ayia napa i took time in choosing accom were i knew i could have quiet if necessary n loud if reqd which also suits me.wrong wrong wrong, holiday ruined by all male and worse still all female groups of british youths, stayin on complex, with families enjoyin this accon, we were witnessed to drunken youths, exposingthemselves by side of pool then urinating in pool this while families were swimming, youths stripping off round pool, incessent noise through the night, one idiot even put his fist thru patio door at 04-30 and was carted off to hospital, total n utter disregard for others, hotel manager marios was devastated by this behaviour, airtours reps didnt give a hoot, lots of people i had spoken to were return guests to this accom, but as for the future no chance, absoloute disgarce and embarrasment.
i have booked to stay at the Thalassaki Tourist Village in October and at the moment I am staying in a land view studio, please could anybody tell me if it's worth paying the extra for a sea view or if the land views are fine? Also am I best asking for a higher room? I hear the ground floor accomodation can be dodgy to leave your belonging out.
See a past discussion on this hotel here http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=40679&highlight=thalassaki
If you use the search function at the top of the page and put thalassaki in on the Cyprus pages it brings about 8 past subjects up including a few recent reviews and loaction of rooms.
As for worrying about a ground floor room and crime you really have nothing to worry about the crime rate in Cyprus is minimal
Hope that helps
hi george, stayed there last yr in july, in seaview ground floor studio, excellent room, large n kept clean, complex kept spotless, we didnt pay extra for seaview, all rooms relatively quiet, people staying near bar complained of late night noise of people returning, but sea view rooms are out of the way,so very peacful, would like to revisit, handy also for everything, cheers
Does anyone have an email address for contacting the Thalassaki Beach ? Or one for the Aquasol Group of which it belongs ?
and the AqualSol webiste is : http://www.aquasolhotels.com
Hope that helps ?
p.s. perhaps one of the Mods could incorporate this info onto the review page for the Thalassaki
Thanks Sapphire, have attempted to make contact.
Just to let you know that the manager of the Thalassaki has already responded to my email and my requests !
