Been to Roda. But it was 5 or so years ago now so costs might have gone up, however:
When we were there, 2 sunbeds and a brollie was about 5-6 Euros.
Shops: Yes there are shops, but not that many on the beach frony. There are lots of shops in nearby Archrivi (sp) worth a visit.
Lots of tavernas though, most are very good.
As mentioned Roda is more laid back than Sidari and if like me you don't want British pubs (I admit there are not so many as other places in Greece, but they are there) etc... then Roda is for you.
