hi
can anyone recommend a hotel in the maldvies all inclusive, and thinking of going in March?
is march a good time to go???
i heard it starts to get "worse" weather wise from April???
dont want to see any rain!!!!!!! not even a sudden tropical downpour
see enough of the stuff in the blasted country???!!!!!
Which island? That all depends on what you want from an island (bigger/small, entertainment ect) It also depends alot on your budget.
We've been in march/beggining of april and had a couple of rain showers. Although it being a tropical climate you can get rain at anytime of year.
thanks for reply
at the moment, dont mind what island it is, as never been to any.
we like peace and quiet, but like to snorkel, walk, go of and explore, visit the odd bar and restaurant or two or three. and perhaps the odd excursion if any
.
dont like any thing commercialised like fast food chains and "english" or irish bars!!!!!!!
dont want activities in the pool at 10 and darts at 2...........
not in to that sort of thing.
as for the budget, as we havent been before, we could start at the bottom and work up-as we are thinking of going via dubai for a 2 night stop over, unless their is anywhere else you could recommend for a stop over, that isnt too long haul - dubai is only 7 hours or (6hrs 40 minutes)
If you want peace and quiet then pretty much any island will do. Best thing I would suggest is to get hold of a copy of "Resorts of the Maldives by Adrian Neville". He reviews just about all the resort islands in it so it should give you a good idea.

You don't get any of this in the Maldives as each island is a seperate hotel. The only time you leave the island is if you go on an organised trip to a local island.
I believe most people that do a stop over do it in either Dubai or Doha but I've never looked into it as we prefer to fly non-stop.
flying non stop is not a good one, as, sitting for length of time, etc no good for back and sciatica. besides, a good i dea to go back to duabai!!!!!
