I love Calangute and the only change is that there seem to be lots more domestic tourists there.
The Saturday market at Mackies is always on but the Ingos one seems to start very late in the season, we came home on around 23 December last year and I seem to remember it was the opening night at Ingos.
Before you make a firm booking with Thomas Cook for Goa, I'd make sure that you will actually be flying on Thomas Cook Airline this coming winter.
Last winter people at my hotel were complaining that TC had swapped them over to Monarch at short notice resulting in less legroom, no personal IFE, and a stopover in Kuwait. They did it to me also a couple of years back flying down to Mombasa.
While I know aircraft do occasionally have technical problems which might require short term solutions, I'd be worried that Thomas Cook are actually getting rid of a lot of their own long haul aircraft this year.
You might not be flying on what you expect.
You may find the THOMAS COOK AIRLINES - FLYTHOMASCOOK .. Q&As topic over on the Flights Forum useful and our What Aircraft? guide (link below).
