Disabled Person Holiday Discussions

Are you disabled or know someone who is? What are your experiences of hotels and resorts as a disabled person?

Hi Caz, Thomas cook will not let you book seats if you are special needs as you need the medical seats and they don't allow people to book these seats.I too have rhuematoid arthritis and I wanted to book a seat that didn't have a seat in front ( not exit seats as we can't have those if you have disabilities ) so I could stretch my legs so they wouldn't stiffen up and they told me I couldn't book as they are allocated at the checkin desk at the airport. I hope this saves you a long and costly phone call.

Thanks Serena

Do you think if I show my Blue Badge at check-in they will allow me an aisle seat.

Our problems sound exactly the same ;-) e.

Hi Caz, Have you booked assisted boarding ? if you have they will know you need a medical seat & I'm sure some are aisle seats.I book assisted boarding as I can't walk very far & I can't stand in queues now so I take my own wheelchair. If you havent booked I'm sure showing your badge will help.
Good Luck

Caz you need to phone Monarch for a medical seat.Give them your disabled badge number and tell them you want an aisle seat.
Thomas Cook do allow you to book medical seats but you have to phone the airline as they are 2 different departments.

Jay I phoned them and was told I can't book a medical seat. My booking was with Thomas cook airlines as well as the hotel as a package.
