hi doe....I tried it out....ran through a booking for sept....transfers included as standard....and then discounts off...
Then tried booking same hols with less than 12 wks to go....transfers are pre ticked in the list of extras...but the original price of holiday goes up by cost of transfers....so as long as you didnt un tick them you should be ok....tweetie
ps what Id read was to the effect that boookings for less than 12 wks before travel did not include transfers but they may be added as optional extras....
booked with thomas cook, just checked paperwork and it definatley says 11th june, booked it in june last year so maybe things have changed since then
The agents did change their date from 12 weeks to 14 weeks, but it's not been 10 for years! Thomas Cook tour operator is still 10 weeks if you book direct with them. It can cause confusion when the tour operators invoice gives a 10 week date, but the agents paperwork gives 14. If Thomas Cook travel agents paperwork says 10 weeks that's ok, go with it - it's their problem if it's wrong!
I did book direct with them, I always do as you get a better price
Apologies for not reading back, but is it possible to do on-line check ins for all Thomas Cook Holidays ?
Apologies found all the info, I need.
Thomson are nearly as bad- but do have about 4 or 5 routes- with the exception of corfu- none being of any interest.
belly
It's not just Leeds/Bradford, TC have pulled flights from a lot of airports. The only places they are flying to from Glasgow over the winter are Egypt and the Canaries, the rest are no longer operating.
They have also scrapped flights from Norwich too- so our friends have booked with thomson too-
I dont think they are doing themselves any favours at all- can they afford to?
Belly
Certainly isn't good, its not great that there are really only two main operators in the market, if Thomas Cook withdraws a load of it's services there will be little or no competition left.
Only resorts thomas cook flys to is Naples, and that resort is rather expensive
If I want my holiday in lido di jesolo, going to need to book it with thomsons, but looks like some hotels have been dropped, and it the mostly the cheaper ones
It seems there holidays arent due out till 7 May, and only because thomson release theres on 26 May, thomas cook released some aswell
The rep expects alot more to apear, after next week, and maybe I will get to see what they have on offer, and book my holiday
when I enquired about my holiday resort for 2013, it seem there a chance of flights flying out from Glasgow, dont know the reason for this, more people from scotland want to go; is glasgow now cheaper to fly from than manchester, what ever the reason...its good for us scots
When I got home I watched it and it put me in a holiday mood. It showed the various brochures and differnt types of holiday TC were now doing. I fancied a few holidays from the Style editions but when I looked at the prices in the brochure, they were ridiculous. I really enjoyed the dvd though
Thomas Cook secures future
Thomas Cook has secured its future with a new loan agreement that extends repayment of its £1.4bn debt for a further two years.
Lenders have agreed to extend the maturity of the loans until May 2015, which Thomas Cook said placed the group on a much firmer footing.
The deal, pulled off by Group interim chief executive Sam Weihagen, also allows Thomas Cook to keep net proceeds from certain disposals to provide additional liquidity.
"Today's announcement highlights the confidence our lenders have in Thomas Cook and we are delighted that they have demonstrated their on-going support," he said.
However, the new deal will cost Thomas Cook a 1% amendment fee and the banks will be granted warrants to subscribe for new ordinary shares, representing 5% of the issued share capital of the Group, at an exercise price of €0.10 per share.
The Thomas Cook Board has completed its strategic review, announced last year, which includes reducing its debt by shedding its assets, including the sale and leaseback of 17 to 19 aircraft, negotiations for which were at an advanced stage, said Weihagen.
So far, the company has reduced its debt by £1.35m, including most recently the disposal of the Explorers Hotel in France. The Board will seek shareholder approval for the disposal of HCV hotels later this month.
Group chairman Frank Meysman said: "I would like to personally thank Sam Weihagen, Paul Hollingworth and the team for the actions that they have taken and continue to take to strengthen the Group's financial position. This bank agreement, together with these actions, places Thomas Cook on a much firmer footing."
The search for a permanent chief executive to replace Weihagen, who delayed his retirement to take the helm at Thomas Cook following the sudden departure of Manny Fontenla-Novoa, is still ongoing. However, Meysman said it was "progressing well".

hi...this can only be good news for those with bookings or planning to book with them...cant help but wonder what effect loosing use of these planes will have...and if this is reason for the reduction in airport and destination options...tweetie
Cant see any mention of a reduction in planes though I expect there will be over a period of time.

There been doing this for a long time, just every year, more hotels and some resorts get dropped

There was a mention although not elaborated on -
'.....including the sale and leaseback of 17 to 19 aircraft, negotiations for which were at an advanced stage, said Weihagen.'
I understand this to mean that they will lease the aircraft rather than own them outright. It releases capital for the company and could have some tax advantages.
just read on aol news that thomas cook may go into administration.
