chloe_wrench,

Welcome onboard :tup
You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below) including cabin photos. The premium cabins are similar, but with subtle differences. The main difference is the size (63 seats on FCA, 31 on TOM). The position of the tray tables is different (seat back on TOM, arm rest on FCA) and the seat pitch is 37" on the TOM and 36" on the FCA. You also have mood lighting on the FCA. In terms of service and IFE though, they are the same so it's only those minor differences and a couple of others. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, just slightly different. The ex-FCA 767-300/ER's are very nice aircraft, I'm off on my 7th round trip with them to the Maldives later this year!

Hi we are flying Manchester/Corfu on 3rd June 2011 on Tom 2518.
Any idea of aircraft please, also do you know when Thomson will be using their new aircraft out of Manchester this coming year?
Also thinking of ordering meals, has anyone had the low fat or gluten free meals and what do you get. Thanks

Vivien-Marie,

MAN-CFU-MAN (TOM2518/9) are operated by Boeing 737-800 (winglets). Thomson won't be using any new aircraft as such. The only additions to the fleet are some new Boeing 737-800 (winglets), but these are only the same as what they are currently operating on selection routes. More details here. I've never tried the low fat or gluten free meals so I can't help on that. BY-TOM-AMM-FCA might be able to help out their. The 787's aren't now due until summer 2012 after Boeing announced further delays, and will enter long haul operations from November 2012. It'll be used on medium haul for a few months before entering long haul service.

Yes! G-PJLO operated the first TOM182/3 (MAN-HOG-MAN) of the summer season.

Shellwalsall,

Yes, the flight will have IFE. Details are on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). I can't give specific aircraft information without more details though as there are lots of flights to AYT, eg departure airport and flight numbers.

Shellwalsall,

Thanks. In that case, BHX-AYT-BHX (TOM656/7) are operated by Boeing 757-200. These have IFE fitted, until the end of the summer season at least.

Hey guys, I have a question. I'm looking at flying LGW - Antalya on 1st November next year and returning two weeks later. I'm wondering which plane operates this years flight so I get an idea of what to expect. Sorry for not having flight numbers. Hopefully it will be a testing route for the 787 next year, boeing are really getting on my nerves with these delays, wouldn't surprise me if even the a350 came into service first! Thanks

alexbthomson,

I haven't got the Winter 11 aircraft schedule as yet let alone the Winter 2012!, but it's normally an Airbus A320-200 on the LGW-AYT-LGW. It won't be a testing route as the 787 will be put in to long haul service commening November 2012, assuming there are no further deals. The first is expected in June 2012 and will be used on medium haul sectors such as Canaries to begin with for crew familarity, but all that is yet to be decided.

Not as much as the airlines that have been expecting them for over 3 years! It's also costing Boeing a fortune in compensation packages, for example Thomson Airways are getting $45 million, aircraft maintenance (c-checks), refurbishments, winglets and the possibility of a couple of replacement 767's to cover the ones with persistant technical issues, if they can be sourced.

Hi Darren

Thanks very much.

Lainie 09,

MAN-FAO-MAN (TOM2446/7) are operated by a Boeing 737-800 (winglets). It'll be inbound from one of TOM2420/1 (Mytilene, Lesbos), TOM2426/7 (Palma) or TOM2436/7 (Sami).

care bear,

Short / medium haul flights are expected to have IFE until the end of the current summer season, then stopped on flights operated by narrow bodied aircraft in line with Thomas Cook.
