Hi,
I'm flying from Manchester to Sharm el Sheikh: Sat 29-Sep-2012 13:55 - TOM294
and then back: Wed 10-Oct-2012 21:30 - TOM895
Can you please tell me what our aircraft will be?
Also, I have paid more for extra legroom seats - are there any which are best or any I should avoid please? Wouldn't mind having a window to look out of but not sure if these are possible with extra legroom seats??
Thanks!
MAN-SSH-MAN (TOM294/895) are operated by Boeing 757-200. Extra legroom seats have windows. Seating is personal preference so it's whichever you prefer really. You'll find extensive aircraft infomation on our What Aircraft? guide (link below) including a link to the seating plan. Extra legroom seating by doors tend to get a little chilly due to less insulation and a draft.
Darren
Thanks very much Darren!!
We always book seat numbers 32D,E and F . These seats are located behind the bulk head, towards the rear of the cabin and behind the toilets. However, IMO they are the better seats due to the amount of legroom (approx 36"/40") and the fact that people can't stand in front of you. People have commented that these seats are an issue due to queues for the toilets, but we have booked these seats 3 times and never found this to be a problem.
Regards,
Pat
I kind of discounted that row of seats straight away due to the proximity to the toilets - I thought they would be the worse seats to pick.
However, if people can't stand in front of you there then they seem like a good choice.
By the way, is that because there is less standing room in front of D, E and F than there is at A, B and C (as it appears from the seating plan in Darren's link)?
Is the little square in front of that row (and the other extra space row) where a staff member would sit?
Thanks.
That is the main reason why we always book these seats, due to nobody being able to stand in front of you.
If sitting in F you do need to be careful when standing up due to head height but D and E are OK. Regarding the standing room in A, B and C I never really took much notice ....... sorry!
In D, E and F ..... yes, we did have 1 cabin crew sitting facing us during take off and landing for about 15mins but we have always found them to be very pleasant. I think cabin crew were also sat facing on seats A, B and C also.
Regards,
Pat
Well they don't seem that bad now!
Is there a window at F please? If so, think I'll try to book E and F (and remember to stay stooped when getting up!!).
I'm assuming there's enough room if sitting in F to get past people sitting in seats D and E without them having to stand/move?
Caroline.
Yes, there is a window if seating in F, and Yes, there is enough room if sitting in F to get past people in D and E without them having to stand up or move.
I've always been put off booking seats in row 12 due to people standing in front of you during the flight, and prefer row 32 due to it being a bit more private.
Regards,
Pat
Hope I manage to get those seats, you're right, they do seem better.
Sorry for the amount of questions lol!
Regards,
Caroline.
Back again ,
Hope your good.
im gong to mobay from LGW with thomson on TOM084 & is 15E still the extra leg room seat ?
Cheers
When is it you're travelling? In the winter season (before the end of April)? LGW-MBJ-LGW (TOM084/5) are operated by former First Choice Boeing 767-30/ER at the moment. Extra legroom seats are rows 11 (C/D/E), 14 (A/B & F/G) and row 20 (A-G). You were on a short haul aircraft the last time you flew on a 767 (ex-Thomsonfly).
Darren
I notice Darren answered a query back in December saying that this would likely be an ex-FCA plane. (but might change)
However I just got the seat booking reminder Email from Thomson and the layout offered to me is 2-4-2
So I'm guessing that they've switched now to an ex-thomsonfly 767?
Am I right?
Also - as always - I responded within minutes of getting the Email yet a huge block of seats at the front of the plane were all already booked and unavailable. And yet it's still three months till the flight.
Who gets to book the seats even earlier?
You are correct, yes. When you say block of seats at the front, are you refering to row 1-5? These are premium seats are therefore aren't available for booking unless you've upgraded. Many seats are pre-selected by the time you log in to the system. You can pre-select seats from 90 days before your departure date over the phone, 60 days online.
Darren
Daz im flying out on the 8th of march
I tried phoning Thomsons on Wednesday to pre book our seats for Cancun on 22 May in the premium cabin and was told that i can only book the seats 90 days from our return date 5th June. I asked if they had changed this as i could do the outward seats last October 90 days before and then did the return seats 2 weeks later but the guy i spoke to say it had changed and i could only do it 90 days from the return date. Is this correct information?
Thanks for your help.
Hi Paula, this does seem to be happening a lot. Numerous people have been told only 90 days from return flight, as stated on their website. Maybe they're just getting a bit stricter.
I might just try them again tomorrow to see if i get the same answer from a differnt person.
Thanks again
Paula
Hi Can anyone tell me which aircrafts are operated by tom508/9 bhx-ssh and tom732/3 gla- ssh flying out 1 march im booking my flight tomorrow and would much prefer aircraft with recaro seats if anyone can shed any light thanks
Specific aircraft are rotated almost weekly. It would be impossable to say if it'll be a 'green' or 'blue' Boeing 757-200 as it could change at any time. Historically, BHX-SSH-BHX (TOM508/9) has been a former First Choice (green) 757-200 and GLA-SSH-GLA (TOM732/3) a former Thomsonfly (blue) 757-200.
Darren
Sorry to be a pain here but you guys seem to have all the answers !
Some time ago we pre-booked Row 19, window seats, on TOM196/7 to Cancun from Manchester on 25th April .
We already know its an ex First choice B767-300er with a 2-3-2 seat layout, but is it possible to find out which version of the B767-300er our flight should be (V1 or V2) BEFORE the date of travel ?
