Hi Darren,
We're due to fly Manchester to Punta Cana on Thursday 17th Feb TOM104/5 for 7 nights. We have booked medical seats as we need 3 seats together and have been assigned 7CDE on both flights. Can you please tell me what aircraft we are likely to have and whether it will be a TOM or exFCA aircraft? Do all their long haul aircraft have the upgraded IFE for a £5 charge in economy? Just trying to work out whether to take a DVD player!

Hi, flying LGW/HOG/LGW on Tom 094/095 out on the 28th feb and back on the 14th mar, are these ex fca a/c?
I'm due to fly TOM568 (BHX - CUN) on May 24th this year, I know the aircraft will be a B767-300ER but will this flight be direct or via Manchester
Thanks in advance
Regards
Chris
MAN-PUJ-MAN (TOM104/5) are operated by a former Thomsonfly Boeing 767-304/ER (winglets). Your seats are in the centre at the front of the economy section (front cabin, just behind the premium seats). All the 763's have AVOD installed so you can upgrade to premium IFE for £5.
Darren
LGW-HOG-LGW (TOM094/5) is a former FCA 76W on a 2 weekly rotation at the moment, with an ex-TOM on the other weeks. Unless things change before your flight, the flight on the 28th Feb should be an ex-TOM, 7th March ex-FCA and 14th March ex-TOM.
Darren
Welcome onboard
I don't have the full flight schedule for Summer 2011 as yet, I should get it towards the end of March if you want to ask again. If it's an ex-FCA aircraft (as last summer), then it should be non-stop. If it's an ex-TOM, it'll operate via MAN (fuel) outbound unless it's weight restricted.
Darren
Im looking at booking our honeymoon to the Maldives, Male (MLE) from London Gatwick on the 3rd July on flight TOM 054 at 18:00.
Do you know what type of plane it is? and if its an ex first choice or Thomson?
Thanks
Richard
Welcome onboard
LGW-MLE-LGW (TOM054/5) are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Thank you for a quick reply...
Thanks for the quick reply re tom 094/095 on the 28th feb and 14th mar, we are a party of 6 flying in premier and from what you say it's an ex tom a/c on both our legs which I think has reduced premier capacity over the ex fca a/c?
If this is the case then how do they decide who gets refused the premier cabin? Is it first come first serve or if the seats you booked on-line on the pre-booked seats don't exist in the tom a/c cabin then it's a 'sorry but those seats are not on this particular a/c'
As I work in the industry I understand things happen but as we are booked in rows 7,8 &9 A&B this is the back of the premier cabin and probably not in the premier section of the tom a/c so would be good to let my party know in advance if it is unlikely to get seated up the front.
Kind regards
Ant.
I beleive TOM organise it based on booking date, but that's something you'll need to ask them if it happens. TOM094/5 has been swapped and changed on a 2 weekly basis from what I can see and has been since the start of the year so I'm assuming it's going to continue. You should really be informed if things have changed and you won't be in premium.
Darren
Darren,
Thanks Darren for the response.
Subject: THOMSON AIRWAYS ... Q&As
The ex Thomsonfly 767's have been going direct lately with full passenger loads.... Don't know why they can magically do it all of a sudden though. Maybe no cargo.

Winglets - I forgot about them.
Darren
Can you advise details of aircraft type on TOM188/189 Manchester to Male (Maldives) on 19 April 2011?
Many thanks,
Derek
Welcome onboard
MAN-MLE-MAN (TOM188/9) are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Does this mean the flight will almost certainty be direct?
Regards
Many thanks for the helpful advice, Darren
From the information at the moment, it'll be non-stop. Direct in aviation terms doesn't mean non-stop, there's a subtle difference. Direct just means you don't change aircraft, but can involve a stop onroute, eg BHX-CUN, with a fuel stop in MAN is classed as direct.
