I've just noticed that today's LGW-SID flight TOM782 is operating on a 737.
Would any of the experts on here know if the 737s are now replacing the 757s to Cape Verde? We've been a couple of times to Cape Verde (from Manchester) but always on a 757. We wanted to go again but found the 757s a bit uncomfortable compared to the 737.
I know you now have the option of extra legroom seating at the front but I wasn't keen on paying the upgrade.
I'd imagine the 737's have the range but I've read the runways at Cape Verde (particularly Boa Vista) are short meaning there may be a refuelling stop depending on the aircraft used.
I was curious as coming up to booking my next holiday and Cape Verde is on my list of possibilities.

Thanks in advance.

They can do it direct, the 737s are just for October, it happens most years(stared last year) when demand is lower and the 757's are having their scheduled maintenance prior to the winter. The middle cabin has comparable leg room to the 737's for no cost as a row was taken out of the middle too. I've not heard of many tech stops so far. Last year there were one or two on the inbound back to Manchester.

Have tried online to book seats in premium row 6 . The seat plan shows 6A,B,C with 6B unavailable. I contacted Thomsons who advised there are no 6B. When I tried to book 6A and 6C the site would not let me book them saying the seats had to be together. I then phoned and booked the seats over the phone with no problems. Has anybody else had this problem?

From reading other forums, yes it has been a problem for a while.

james 84,

MAN-TFS-MAN (TOM2588/9 & TOM2570/1) are operated by Boeing 757-200.

Yes I had the same problem myself back in early Sept trying to book seats in PC. I was in Nice at the time & it was 1am local time but a quick PM to the Thomson FB team sorted it out & so we are sitting in 1G/J.

I believe it's quite a common problem, & so very frustrating!

Yes same problem here too and if you read the Thomson page on Facebook - you will see you are not alone! I really think they should have sorted it by now! Its so annoying that you have to then phone a premium number!

there are a few alternative numbers rather than phoning the advertised premium one .
02476283046 is one of them

Hi - first time I have used this forum so hope I'm in the right place.

We are travelling PE from Gatwick to Montego Bay on 24th March 2014. I know we cant select our seats until 90 days before we fly but wondered if anyone knows how I can find out what plane we are likely to be on so that I can do some seat research. I have tried seat guru and other sites but they're not making very much sense to me - probably much more my fault than theirs!

I'm not too sure if we will be on a Dreamliner going out - our return flight is on 8th April 2014.

Many thanks for any help and advice - have never flown PE before so really dont want to male a silly mistake on seat selection.

Joolz :)

Looking at Thomsons website, it appears to be a 767 outbound, and 787 inbound.
