We enjoyed 2wks at the Yaramar Hotel in Fuengirola (Aug '08) Lovely hotel, good food and sea view

We stayed at Catalonia Ses Estaques in Santa Eulalia,Ibiza the first two weeks of June this year.
It was a lovely hotel,worth paying a bit extra for a sea view, we had room 206, overlooked pool,marina and sea it must have been one of the best rooms for views other than top floor but they were suites and more costly.The setting is georgeous, very pretty and directly on the sea front.
The food was good, lots of choice.
Entertainment was good most nights, reps shows were a bit of let down,
Overall really enjoyed our stay.

I thought the whole Thompson Gold thing fell apart when on a certain Sky tv promotion they showed the ins and outs of the so called Gold accommodation and then stated HP Brown sauce was available in the restaurants!!!!!! talk about all fur coat and no knickers.

What sauce should it have been, if any for the "polished" one?

Anyway, I've done the Falesia (Algarve) a few times and this a great Gold hotel. It's pretty quiet where it's situated (between Albufeira and Vilamoura), but I always hire a car, so no problem.
Great well kept hotel and grounds and great food, complete with HP sauce.

My Mum and Dad (both 72) usually go on a Thompson Gold holiday, they love them! The reason for this no Kids!! they like their days to be relaxed, they find the hotels are usually in lovely locations (pretty, peaceful settings) and the food is pretty good. Most of the time the entertainment is usually good also. I am not sure what some people are getting at, whats wrong with HP brown sauce? My Mum and Dad certainly don't go on these holidays because they think they are a cut above, quite the reverse if you knew them. Mum always shops around to get a good deal on the next Gold Hotel she has picked out. They tried these hotels one year and found they suited them for what they look for in a holiday. They go on them for quiet weeks holiday at a time and then they come away with me and my rabble for quite a different type of holiday!!
Each to their own!

I've also heard the Camp de Mar in Majorca is supposed to be good, but never been myself.
