Well done to Thomson Holidays for resolving the problem of the missed port of call, Split .
Due to substandard fuel taken on at Koper, we experienced electrical failure affecting the vacuum toilet system, air conditioning and electrics.Although only for a couple of hours it was very unpleasant as it was so hot. We were stranded in Koper, Slovenia and couldn't depart as expected. We were still there the next morning until the problem was fixed. We were kept updated as to what was being done and the Blitz spirit prevailed. We finally left Koper and headed to Venice where we arrived in the evening (instead of the morning). As we were behind schedule we were informed that we would have a day and a half in Venice (great to see Venice at night !!) instead of a day and we would miss out Split in Croatia. As we still got to Dubrovnik we were happy. More letters and announcements followed and the entertainments team did a brilliant job of keeping the passengers entertained and happy. Each passenger was given £150 of onboard credit and if you didn't spend it you were given the cash back. Apart from this problem we had a great cruise.
As a result of Thomson's handling of the matter I'm sure most, if not all the passengers onboard, would travel with Thomson again.I certainly will.
Hope everything is now fully operational I have just booked that cruise this morning for Sept
Hi Nick. Apart from the dodgy fuel everything was great. The Spirit is still a bit tired but it's the atmosphere that makes this Thomson ship a great cruise.Well, bar the frosty Reception staff (as always) everyone else was great. Waiters, cabin stewards, bar staff and the entertainment team top notch as always. If there was room in my suitcase I would have brought back our Filipino waiter
Sorry to hear of your problems Hilary...As a recent cruise addict I'm already planning my next one...I realise how disappointing it must be when things don't go to plan
