So sorry. I've spent far too long today looking at this screen. I'm getting my eyes tested on Saturday, perhaps it's just as well!!
Obviously no singles on allocation on the MAN flights. Rather than pay the extra to fly from MAN it would be cheaper to fly BA MAN-LGW and then to Jamaica. We're flying to LGW when we go to Cuba.

Just wondering if anyone who has booked a Thomson holiday has ever tried to change it to a First Choice one and if so, what was the response when contacting Thomson?

No I haven't but I would doubt that you can do it. They are two separate brands, so trade independently, while both being owned by Tui.

Hi sunaddict,
I also didn't think it would be possible, although both TUI. Just thought I would ask if anyone had tried to do it.
Thanks.

hi

my parents were booked thomson (cala nova, ibiza) last year but had to postpone due to unforseen evets, theyre traveling to tenerife in 6 weeks stopping in the fiesta hotel down there which features in the first choice brochure.

there were no hassles at all with the change, its the same admin team for all the brands tui own in the uk now and they were only charged a one off fee of £35 each to change

Just to confirm what joules said, we recently had to change a holiday from First Choice to Thomson, no problem just pay the admin fee :tup

Maybe folk will have noticed that booking on Thomsons website has recently changed. Sometimes you will be offered "15Kg free" luggage allowance, sometimes "20Kg free" just on a different flight.
(eg swapping from Larnaca to Paphos for Cyprus flights)
You now have to be really careful, and notice that it sometimes defaults into trying to sell you an extra amount - sometimes 25Kg total!

But while aiming to book a summer holiday today I noticed a real nasty.
As you price up your holiday you might notice a message that "since your return flight departs after 6pm we have added a late checkout room"
And there's obviously a cost for this - sometimes quite large.
But BEWARE. The website did this to me several times when pricing up holidays where the flight actually departed as early as 14.40. !!
And so since one has to be at the airport typically 3 hours early - the "late checkout room" is completely unnecessary.
I reckon it's a software bug, but it could end up costing people money.

Hi Booked a holiday last week and noticed the same. Also noticed that some ( not all) holidays for the same date and flight had a charge (£20 each) for a resort transfer! Read carefully before you cick is my advice.

The other daft thing I picked up when pricing yesterday was that the private taxi transfer was coming out cheaper than the "standard" coach transfer !!!! :que

read this morning in paper Thomson considering asking people to pay for hols in full when you book, says if they do that others will follow

Goodness that will stop people from booking 12 months in advance, and increase the amount of folk booking a flight and a hotel instead.

Booking flight only usually means paying in full at the time of booking anyway, so not sure how many people would swap to component holidays as the flight is usually the biggest chunk. I do think it will either make more people pay with their credit card to spread the load though.

It'll just mean a last minute panic for holidays - can't see many people putting several thousand ££s down the previous Summer somehow!! :que

Hello
not sure if i'm doing this correctly so apologies if i'm in the wrong place!
I am flying BHX-CAN 12thApr/19th Apr respectively on TOM 568/569 and wondered if you could give me some info on which plane i am on as I can't make sense of the seat plan.Could you tell me the seating config for these flights, are they 328 seats or 293? I have allocated 22G/H out and 28G/H return, are they ok?
Also I'd like to know if these flights make a refuelling stop in Manchester.

Thankyou

Hi Nutmeg ... this is the Thomson Holidays topic, for discussion about the tour operator side of the business. To catch the attention of the aviation experts, you require the Thomson Airways topic in our Airlines & Airports forum ... please click here.

Hi not sure if i'm asking this at the right place but we have just booked an Olympic holiday in a Thomsons travel agents flying with Monarch on the 21st June 2011 but i have just read that Olympic and Monarch have fallen out and are not flying any Olympic passengers in 2011 amd many people are now having their flights changed including new airline, new times and even different airports. As we booked with Thomsons and have all Thomsons branded paperwork will we be ok on the Monarch flight even though it says provide by Olympic holidays on our booking form or will we be getting a new flight. I'm really worried because we are flying on a Tuesday which is not the normal wed or sun to Larnaca so i dread to think who we will be flying with because Thomsons, first choice, thomas cook etc don't fly on a Tuesday. I'm really funny about who we fly with and will not accept some obscure Russian airline as i've read they are using. Why are Olympic still advertising Monarch flights on their website? :que

It definitly won t be with Monarch , they are currently changing all of their flight scheldules and times , you may have the updated times but I am surprised that they are still advertising Monarch as it is a very well known fact within the travel industry that they have fell out !

thomson are acting as an agent so they will have no control whether they change the flight or not . Some people have been changed to Jet 2 , but if you are travelling on a non normal flying day (or want of abetter description) , it will probably be with a smaller airline.

Monarch and Olympic are definitely not bed partners anymore. Thomsons are only the agent, so don't enter into the equation.

Olympic are swapping flight days and airports along with airlines, and sometimes more than once. They seem to have tried two or three different airlines. Some people have been swapped from Monarch to Jet2 and are now flying Torair. They are an expanding Swedish airline, who Phil Wyatt! (ex XL and Viking airlines) has links with.

If they swap your flight by more than 12 hours, swap days or airports they will offer you a refund if the alternative isn't suitable.
