Garry, i can't comment on the villa or car hire but i couldn't believe it when my 21 year old daughter told me she had driven from Dalaman to Marmaris :shock:I can't explain the reasons why cos people staying at the Greenpark might spill the beans and i'll be in trouble.She drove on the way back too. Only been driving a couple of years and she coped so i was just trying to assure you not to be scared.

Re-check the site. If it doesn't specifically say that a car is included, then it wont be. If your still not 100% sure send them an email prior to booking. I would imagine if a car is not included there will be the option of a coach transfer.

I drove for the first time in Turkey last year, though Marmaris during various times.

Its not as bad as you think driving on the wrong side of the car really aint an issue, the only problem I had was insticntivley trying to grab the seatbelt from my right shoulder, oh and looking our of the window whilst trying to glance at the rear view mirror. Changing gears etc was not an issue at all for some reason.

As for driving on the right, well again its not really an issue, because your on the left side of the car, it sorta comes natural to keep the nearside (right side) to the kerb.

We have just returned from Turgutreis & it is a little along the coast from Yalikavak. We hired a car to drive to ephesus & on returning to the Bodrum peninsular I wanted to drive in via the north & see those resorts. Yalikavak, is not too far from Gumusluk & looked a fabulas place. Really pretty & quite upmarket. I'm interested that Thomson Villas go there, I think I will look. I saw places selling the prettiest white windmills with candles inside, I said if I went back to that area I would go lighter & keep room for one, they would look great in the garden.

We hired a car & a bike while we were over there. My husband drove, but to be honest I don't think they are mad drivers. They keep left if they are slow & people don't get the hump when a faster vehicle overtakes, less agressive than UK driving I thought.
