not long back from PEK and we left tips of about 10% of the bill which i thought was fair and the waiters seemed pleased in fact some looked surprised perhaps other people don't even tip, basically it cost about 2TD for lunch and drinks in the beach bar every day and about the same in the evening for the same waiter who served our drinks and cleared the table. Our waiter was really good he was efficient but never in your face or hovering around like most annoying waiters usually do, at the end of the week i gave him 20TD because his service was impeccable and he ensured we were welcomed each evening , served our drinks quickly and left us to enjoy our meal without any unneccessary fuss.
we left the room girl 15TD as she did a good job each day, one thing that did shock me was another room girl asked if we could swap a £2 coin for 5TD coin which i did, but when i emptied my pockets when i got home i noticed the coin looked and felt different, and then saw it was a fake coin, now obviously the Tunisians are not going around producing fake english coins, so a tourist must have passed on a fake coin as a tip by mistake??
