Leave as much or as little as you little there isn't really a set amount you should leave.

I always round up about 10% to the nearest note I have, sometimes its slightly more sometimes slightly less, however bad service or bad food they get zero, bad food (very very very rare, happened once in 4 years) I arque over the bill, exactly the same as here.

I always tip the coach driver to and from the airport, they have to lug cases on and off for you. I knw they get paid but then everyone does but most like a tip.

The waiters, the maid and anyone you think have looked after you. We normally tip around 10% of the bill.

I tip everybody on holiday ,as for the maids i usually keep all my change during the holiday and the day i am leaving i add a few notes ,and write a wee note thanking them in turkish, they never forget ,when you arrive the next year you are treated like family. Most hotel staff poole all there tips and it gets shared out at the end of the season, the occasional bob or two into the tip boxes spread about the hotels go a long way . You dont think they see you but they do.

hi!normally i try ot leave 10% too tho it depends on the change dont it!in mu hubby's place last year i watched them sort tips, i was annoyed the way they sort it bu percentage to each and cos he was manager he got more, lol,i said that wasnt fair!on the boat i worked on tips got shared evenly between us all, even the captain which was fair but mehmet was having none of this lol!!!and a weee tip can go a long way and is much appreciated, i mean even if we only for 5 lira each we wer chuffed, to get more even better lol, used to buy us munchies from bim for supper lol!without the tips, it woulda bn harder to survive, they do make such a difference, until i worked out there last july-oct i never thought much of tipping an dsometimes i grudged it  now i know different!some of tthem work so hard for such little money i.e. the maids n they so deserve a little extra!anyway im rambling, hope everyone here has a good hol!take care xxx

I remember a maid who's english wasn't too good but i realised she wanted to know if i could change all the pound coins she had been given as tips into notes. She was so good and i changed 50 pounds but my purse was really heavy with all those coins :lol:She had lots more!! We generally give 10% to waiters etc.We leave whatever notes we have left for the cleaners but save some to tip the driver on the way back to Dalaman. We gave our driver 10 lira when he dropped us off, many people hadn't bothered but we were the only ones to have our cases taken to reception by him

I always tip the coach driver,as sometimes it can be really embarassing when you see lots of people getting off and only one or two leaves a tip . sometimes the wee basket on the dashboard is empty,of course it is a matter of choice .I remember the rep telling us once how much,or should i say how little they get for a wage ,it was dreadfull.

We do almost exactly the same 10% in restaurants, small tips to the driver and save all small change for the maids and leave them bits and pieces which we buy over there that we are not bringing home.

we tend to leave bits we haven't used too - we left half bottles of shampoo, shower gels etc for the lads at the bar we used - shall be taking a bit over for them this year!

we always tip according to the service we received if has been bad or food has been bad i dont tip and as i wont return to a restaurant that is not any good it doesnt matter. i know that the pay structure in turkey is not good but one of the animation team at the hemera hotel who is english does not go shopping without one of the turkish team as he says they get a diferent price and not a tourist price , i was also told this by an english man who lives in turkey that he asks for a turkish price and not tourist price.

Like everyone else said, it goes on the service.

We generally tip at least 10%. Generally a little more if it's been good, but we have been known to tip very generously if it was a really good night.

Always leave a few coins for the coach driver. Taxi driver we just round it up to the take full number, and the cleaners we leave some generous change.

Easy.

We leave a wee tip if it's just drinks, 10% for meals and 20TL for the maid. However if we've been charged for drinks that we didn't have -as has happened quite a few times - we don't leave anything.

I always tip at the beginning of the holiday.

We were AI. I gave the chambermaid 20YTL and each barman 5YTL when they first served us. Cost me £40 but worth every penny.
The room was kept spotless for the week and we received superb service at the bars.

We also tend to give generous tips at the start of our holiday. We also round up our bill to the nearest whole note and tip the change, so sometimes if a meal is 21lira, we tip 9, if its 27 we tip 3 etc.

I asked on this topic, because when you come home, and you work out what what you have given in tips, its quite a lot of money. Yes I have given 10% in restaurants, and 20 lira to the cleaners, and when you only go to a bar and have drinks another 10%,prices for drinks have gone up a lot this last 2 years,I dont think I will be giving a tip just for a drink this year.I read somewhere recently that taxi drivers dont expect a tip ,what a laugh .
