We are flying from Manchester (as we live in Staffordshire) with Thomas cook but DIY. Were not fans of sand either, But I do like to snorkel. I've not been to the Titanic or Hurgarda before though I did sail down the canal to Suez and went to cairo last month but for work not pleasure.
The Titanic looks great though, the kids can't wait as the hotels we have been to in the past have never had slides, but last year we had our first "im bored" on holiday by the pool so drastic measures were needed from then on lol!

Sorry - not paying attention properly but did you say you are booked in to 'old' Titanic? You will have a brilliant time if it hasn't changed drastically!!! Even I liked the slides (50 and something !- I even braved the kamikaze not once but twice!! Enjoy and please report your experiences when you return.

I have had a look on medhotels and they have no availability for the original titanic. Will have a look more tomorrow on the other sites.

My daughter got hooked on waterslides when we went to Malaysia when she was 3 and the hotel had a small water slide. it really got her swimming. Since then all our holidays have to have a water slide. She used to be happy with just the one or two, but since Titanic 2 years ago she now wants lots. (last year we went to Dominican Republic and they just had one slide but it was boring!). A happy kid means a happy holiday although it drives me mad trying to find the ideal hotel that has good waterslides and also a good kids club.

To anyone who has been to the original titanic, does the disco still play very loud music til 4.00ish? Do you still have to pay for drinks in there? is the mini disco still in german?

Thanks
Reply
Yes, music in disco is loud and late - hence ask for room in main hotel not near disco!! I think you still pay for drinks. Sorry, don't know about kids disco but generally, entertainment when we were there was based more for europeans.

I have requested a ground floor main building room due to advice from here ;)
Shame about medhotels have you tried Travel republic, onthebeach etc?

I respect advice/reviews from holiday truths alot more than any other holiday sites, as you do get some idiots posting reviews but there are not many if any here, most here seem to be well just better! And to make a point and well worth a laugh look at this extract from a review of the Titanic I read today (not from here of course).

So apparently all Germans are gay! lucky they didn't bother them lol and talk about casting aspersions!

Who was it that said "a little knowledge is very dangerous"?

To be honest, other nationalities have never bothered us on holiday and its mainly the brits that sit at the swim up bar all day long neglecting their young kids that drives us mad. I have seen lots of toddlers wonder off and their parents not even notice.

We had a top floor family room when we were there and the room was great. will look up flights and hotels today to see what I can find.

Thanks

Med hotels do have availability maybe updated or you might have missed it as its now under "Primasol Titanic resort & aqua park"
anyway with the discount code it is £20.22 cheaper than travel republic lol but it will nearly cover a night out at the hard rock cafe by all accounts :)

I will have another look as yesterday when I checked availability there didn't have the family room, but they may have had other rooms. Flight prices have gone up like £300 this morning when I checked so am hoping they will come down again.

Right will just check

This is what I get. Didn't check other sites since the flight had gone up to nearly £1800 for the 4 of us. They still have the beach available.

Hi there everyone, booked to go to the Titanic Beach & Spa Resort on 22nd Aug for 14 nights, looks great :tup . Yes i have been to the ( old ) Titanic Aquapark Hotel in 2006 holiday was great had 2 kids 11 & 7 hardly saw them due to the aquapark. Reason for booking the ( new) Titanic was that we all like to snorkel plus i believe that there is a house reef right outside of the hotel plus a smaller aquapark when not snorkeling and :sun2 . The main question is does anyone know if you can use the old Titanic Aquapark for free if you stop at the new Titanic :que . Hello again to everyone, haven,t been on since 2006 due to no hol last year. remember Nicolaw from 2006  .

Hi there Jennybrum,

The flight I wanted has now gone and costs of other flights have escalated to like over £1800. I should have booked when the flights were £1350. That will teach me.

Will keep searching though.

I don't think you will be able to use the other park as the new one has "LTI" in front of the name and the old one has Primasol In front of it now. I'm worried that I wont be able to use the 2 across the road now??

I'm not sure if this is just a deal like a franchise etc and that they are still owned privately. Maybe someone here with more knowledge of the hotel industry could clarify?

Hi Every-one,

I have booked to go to the Titanic Beach & Spa on 22 Aug with my husband and two sons, we booked with Sunmaster and it states on the web-site that we can use the Aqua Park and ali-baba beach free of charge.

I don't know if that goes for every travel company or just SunMaster.

Is any one else going at the same time?

Jenny

Hi Jenny,

I am presuming they just mean the Aqua park at that hotel and not the aqua park at the resort.

Think they have taken this description for the resort as the Titanic beach has its own beach and I thought it wasn't next to Ali baba. But I could be wrong.

I tried to email the Titanic beach but have not heard back from them

Just e-mailed Sunmaster to clarify that what they have put on there web page is correct. Plus flights on Sunmaster from Manchester 22nd Aug £345 Nicolaw. So once again i sit in wait that the Holiday company i booked with have got ther facts right :duh . Just like the Coral Sea Resort saga in 2005. As soon as i get a reply i'll get back.

Looks like Sunmaster have really screwed up there website on that one. They have it on twice as the same name but with the old location description, hence use of the other hotels beach but with the pictures of the new one :( but I think there may be a clue in the price as one is £203 per the other is £527 per.

But if your going to the old one (not directly on the beach) then we will keep a sun bed warm for you lol. As the 22nd would be the end of our first week there, any kids in tow jennybrum?
