Like you this will be my first time to Greece, and have heard that said before.
i did ask when we booked the holiday and was told yes you might have to depending on where you
are staying and the accomodation. we have booked a 4* hotel so hopefully will be able to flush. But honestly its not that bad , the other year in Turkey we had to put tissue and anything else into a bin at the side of the toilet . it was emptied on a daily basis and didn't smell, i did use to put everything in nappy sacks first though , even the children got use to it .

the funny thing is that once you get home, you will automatically look for the bin the first few times

i'll take a supply of nappy bags with me.....just in case...!

We always take scented nappy bags, they're bloody useful. You soon get used to it.

PUT THE PAPER IN THE BIN........

most drainage around Greece/Cyprus and many other med countries is of the small bore type [3 inch instead of 4 inch or bigger] PAPER , female personal products, disposable nappies or liners can and do block the systems causing all sorts of smelly EXPENSIVE problems. if you cause a blockage you may well be asked to pay the consequences,

If a fly bin [UK term for the bin by the loo] is in place PLEASE use it... if no fly bin then its safe to assume the hotel has a holding tank and massorator system to break down such problematic debris before pumping to the main drain, but you wont find many
