Hi
Anyone out there got any information on Tolon? Any advise on the best places to eat/drink and how cheap/expensive we're likely to find it. Also is it best to hire a car or rely on the local transport? We're visiting for the last two weeks of May.
Any info appreciated.
Hi ziggypne i am also going to spend a few weeks in tolon at the end of may. If you look back down the list you will see the replies that I recieved. I too will be a first time visiter to tolon, although ive been to the peloponese before, catch you later maybe ........dave
I've said this to Dave already but - Dave and Ziggy- I look forward to hearing your views on Tolon!
the best eating places i found in tolon was maria,s accross from the Kosma office and the ?(thats its name) which is round the corner from maria,s and theres a small grill house in the centre of tolon that does brilliant pork chop.
the best bar i found was the express bar next to the Kosmar office it is run by a guy cxlled Manolis and his family, the prices in tolon have gone up since the euro was introduced but it is still cheaper to eat out than in England.
i only use public transport to get around its very good and very cheap we get the bus into Nafplion and once there you can get a bus to near enough anywhere including Athens.
k&j
Prices up since Euro though. Good crepe bar too. Esperando and Vibe good for just drinks.
See thread for Tolo and Amaryllis apartments and http://www.tolo-guide.gr for general info.
Tolo is the best resort we have have been too.
Just wondering about your user id. Are you a PNE fan?
Also look forward to your review on Tolo. Hope it hasn't changed too much
Yes i'm a PNE fan, for all my sins i'm a season ticket holder! Premiership next season ha ha
Looking forward to visiting Tolon, (though not the airport transfer) only 6 weeks to go. Just hope it's not to commercialised, but reading the reviews on here it seems pretty laid back. Thanks for the info on places to eat/bars.
I work on PNE as a steward on matchdays for my sins.
It pays for litttle treats like 2 weeks in Tolo each year.
We are not going to July so as no to miss any games.
Premier league you never know but we would need a new team
Looking forward to your review
Keith
we are going to tolon in late may staying at the kleoni club any one been by chance.
also interested in all the sites you can visit esp Athens.
read a report by tolon about public transport ie buses from Nafplion. have you ever used this service and if so how long does it take to get there. We would like to get to Athens early in the morning.
Any information would be great

nearby Nafplion, the former Greek capital.
Mycennae- a must
Epidavros- another must see
visit an island- we went to Hydra and I defy anybody to find a more beautiful place.
Olympia- quite a distance away though
Athens- we did this on our last day. I liked this as you didn't have time to mope around counting down the hours of your holiday!I can't remember how long it took to get to Athens but I wouldn't fancy going there and back in a day.
We could have gone on more trips as there are loads of things to do!
It has been quite a while since my trip to Tolon and we went on organised excursions. It is a great place.
Go to the "search" above the "post a reply" and type in Tolon as there have been a few posts on it recently.
by the way- welcome to HT Jimbo!
Just to say thanks for your info regarding Tolon and the nice welcome too HT. We are taking two friends with us who have never been to Greece before but i`m sure they will love it as much as we do.
Leaving on the 22nd can`t wait. Will write a report when back all sun ta

I have put a weblink there as well.
We went to Kleoni Club two years ago and loved it. We stayed in the split level dulplex type apts which were great. Loved the resort too even though it was a bit of a hike back to apts from town (steep hill)
We booked to go back but Kosmar lied to us about Kleoni pool being closed for repairs and sent us to Amaryllis which was good also and going again this year. Owners at Kleoni very friendly wife is English and cannot do enough to help. Resort on quite side except at weekends when it fills up with wealthy athenians going to their place by the sea. Cannot reccommend highly enough. See web site http://www.tolo-guide.co.uk
Enjoy and look forward to your report
Keith
You have made me really happy now, Steve and Chris the friends who are coming with us should have a great time too. Can`t wait, only four more days to go and if Liverpool go five in Istanbul i`ll be in seventh heaven, Steve is a big Man Utd fan and for once ill be able to shut him up?.
Thanks to every one who replied to my post. Holidaytruths is a great place to air your views. I love it!!
Goodbye for now.

Anyone give any hints and tips for TOLON, going in July. Many thanks.
there have been a few posts recently on Tolon. If you go to the search button above this and put in Tolon you will be able to find them. Great place!
Many thanks fiona, really looking forward to it, although I am a confirmed Samos person.
I would love to hear how you enjoy it. I was there too long ago to be able to give out any advice on the place. Great excursions from there though!
