Hello

Never had a problem at all thankfully. Incase you fancy a change vodka with visne soda (fizzy cherry juice) is a pleasant change and not too sweet.

Hi Kyemily - thanks for this. Where have you stayed before?

Yes, tonic is widely available, both in bar and supemarkets.

Hi Nicky3

I stay in Turunc (not far from Marmaris/Icmeler), and can't wait to be back there in June.

Take care

Sorry Kedi, we stay just outside Gumbet. I have to disagree, good tonic water i.e. schwepps(or however it's spelled) can be very hard to find, even in the likes of Carrefour, Tansas or Kipa. You can find the Turkish tonic almost everywhere but it's just not the same, and is a poor substitute - imho.

Thanx turkishvisitor and Kim - I will be in Akyaka so not a massive resort and I think you would be right - the tonic water is going to be hard to find! Help, what am I going to have with my vodka on the balcony in the evening??? I dont do orange or coke if that helps!!!

I like the sound of that fizzy cherry juice.

Will have to give the cherry a whirl!

Perhaps they have Red Bull, not had it myself but that seems to be very popular with Vodka.

Hi Doepsmc - yes I am a fan of redbull - maybe I can get that there - only problem being I will be completely buzzing all nite!

Turkish visitor, I used to live in Gumbet and whenever my parents stayed with us they managed to find Schwepps tonic water, I'm sure they must have got it in Carrefour and also in some of the smaller supermarkets too. They probably serve Turkish tonic water in the bars though but I wouldn't know the difference as I don't drink it myself.

Vodka and cherry juice is very nice, I have never tired fizzy cherry, in fact I don't ever remember seeing it. Is it cherry juice and soda or something?

They do have red bull but I expect it is expensive as it is imported. Again I don't drink it so I can't say for sure.

Hi Tokmak, Cant think of a user name and The Oakmans - I will be staying in Anyakar - so not sure what the deal is there, but looks like it will be hard to get! Looks like will have to have something else with my vodka!

ill try and find out for you, but i think as akyaka is a small resort with none of the above mentioned supermarkets it might be harder to find, there is a sok supermarket which might sell it, as soon as i find out ill let you know as its something i never buy, so really have no idea

When I was out in Yalikavak last October you couldn't get a bottle of tonic water anywhere! The local bar owners were all buying it up from Migros so it was like gold dust! lol I think there was some problem with the production of it around that time - can't remember the whole story. Anyway I'm sure it's unlikely it'll happen again ...
