Hi there, I was at the Topaz in january. It is clean and well run, the food is very good, the entertainment is not worth mentioning. Would definately go back there

We have been here about 4 times. Its quite a good hotel. We loved the Peacock bar in the hotel, you must try ALL the cocktails. The food is good and staff nice. You must also try the Royal Oak pub in the hotel, its just like an old English pub. The last time we stayed here we did have to ask to move rooms, we were on the top floor of the block that is at the left hand side as you look out of the front doors of the hotel. We asked to be moved as the noise from the aircon plant for that part of the hotel was on the roof above our room and it was very noisy all the time. The entertainment was not great, you may have an entertainer called "Ernest" who is there most nights.

I wonder if that is the same "Ernest" who performs in a certain pub in Paceville, if so he is quite good

Thanks for all the replies. Am really looking forward to it having never been to Malta before ! I have just read somewhere that I know Malta is now non-smoking, that some bars are allowing you to smoke however, somebody then posted that if you get caught it is YOU that gets fined and not the bar?? Does anyone know how true this is? Also, will i be allowed to smoke in my hotel room or on my balcony?
and sorry, just remebered something else i wanted to ask...Do you know if cocktails are included on the AI stays?
Hi angelsis68, in an ideal world you should'nt be be allowed to smoke in your room, however, the reality of it is that yes you will unfortunately probably be allowed to smoke in your room unless of course it is a nominated non-smoking room which is pretty tough luck on any of us non-smokers who may have the misfortune to be using the room after you, with regards to bars, if you are caught smoking by the Pulizja then both you and the bar owner are liable to be fined and quite right to, like any law it is there for a reason and anyone caught breaking it deserves every punishment that they may receive.

Hi angelsis68, of course there was no offence taken, I just dissaprove of smoking thats all, no offence was meant whatsoever to you, just feel as though there are far more important issues to discuss and think about when travelling to somewhere as special as Malta.

There is a list in the Peacock bar for AI cocktails, all very nice!!

hi i am also going to topaz fly out on thursday 21st for two weeks with wife, two daughters and one of there friends. first time to malta looking forward to it, heard good things about it. friend at work goes regular loves the place.

15 and 14 and ther friend is 15 they will soon be known around hotel and pool
2 more sleeps !! i am so excited...cases packed and locked and ready to go !!! i ma travelling with hubby and 10 yr old son....I emailed the hotel as it is my sons 11th birthday when we are there, they are arranging a cake for his birthday for him !! how good is that !!! bless him, he will be sooooo embarassed, he has no idea !
alas, no cocktails included in the AI in topaz anymore :-(......but we enjoyed the stay none the less !! yay !
