any info gratfully received.
You keep coming up with good questions I know since you are going to Pomorie there aint no station there you would have to go into Bourgas to get trains but they run on time are not very new but do the job enjoy the travelling
yes we are going to pomorie and knew there was no trains running from there but thought we could go to bourgas and explore a bit(we are getting so brave in our old ages)
is there anywhere online we could get an idea of time-prices etc
just done quick search on Google got one or two sites for you to check if you ask google for trains in Bulgaria then link to bdz you get info page for trains
For information of others, the web site is http://bdz.creato.biz/en
You won't believe the prices, and first class is recommended.
A few years ago we did overnight Varna to Sofia. It was on time to the minute.
We had a 3 berth first class sleeper, and we realised when we boarded that for about 5 leva more we could have had the complete compartment. As luck would have it we did have it all to ourselves.
It was spotlessly clean, and I would describe it as slightly faded Pullman luxury.
When in Bulgaria during June. I did the Varna to Dobrich Journey.
It is a brand new siemens Diesel Train. Distance 92 klms, journet time 2hr 6 mins. price 3 and Half lev single. I printed of the trip and at each station for the journey, spot on all the time. 11.02 is first train. So anybody in Albena or Golden Sands, get a bus to varna, then train, then bus back to Golden Sands a round trip of over a hundred miles for about £4. Tonyt
According to the BDZ website, the first train is Ord29102, which leaves Varna at 06:54 & arrives at Dobrich at 09:02 - presumably aimed mainly at business travellers.
Unfortunately I was too occupied in painting, etc., at the house to try the journey this time but will certainly do so in the future.
so if and when we get up the courage to get the train
do use machines to get tickets is there a ticket office or what
might seem a daft question but cant afford trains here in county durham
Good Evening Baldur. the 11.02 is the first of the three Diesels that run during the day. Liked it so much going to do it again in Sept. Slightly off topic, did you have a long wait for the family the other Sat Morning. Cheers Tonyt.
