Can anyone tell me whether these harbours/ports are close to the town/city centre?
I've read through the topics so far which have been very useful but I could just do with knowing how to get to town when we get off the ship.
In Toulon we want to get the cable car to Mont Faron but not sure how to go about it. Also in Trapani we want to get the cable car to Erice but again not sure where to go for it.
We would like to walk around Olbia but not sure where to go when we get off the ship.
incidentally does anyone know any websites where I can download town maps?

Hi- have only been to Toulon of those 3. You will dock right in the town, which has a lovely harbour and a very pleasant town centre and market. There is a mini train that starts right at the port entrance. We have done the cable car ride- can't remember what number bus we got- caught it in the main street behind the harbour. Facing the sea you want a bus travelling to the right! It was a Sunday when we went, there were not too many buses, and where it drops you off is in the middle of nowhere, just a hotel, bus stop and cable car station. At the top there is a cafe and a nature park. It wasn't wonderful, and we had a very long wait for a bus to get back.
