jam what i am saying is try being polite to them and they might answer your e-mailsthey answer mine and as for the complaints forum i thaught it was there for people to complain about the holiday experience and its not just tcd its with all holiday complaints and you might get more help with your ongoing problem with tcd in that forum thats all i was getting at
mark: I think you have me mixed up with someone else as I have not sent TCD an email, they have my complaints in writing and I am awaiting reply. That is not my issue, the last thing I ever want to do is upset someone who is about to go on holiday but if you are on the forum you are wanting information and that is all I am giving.
casterton: You are right TCD must do something right as they do have thousands of customers, but for how long I wonder. As mentioned to Mark I am just giving my opinion on the subject of TCD and because it is negative other people presume I am trying to spoil things for others which I am not I am just giving information on my own experience and hope it is received respectively.
by complining about how bad your holiday was thats hardly help you just keep going on and you will have more help in the complaints forum
This is all getting boring now, I think Markwebster is just trying to increase his posts and keeps reverting to text style even though he has been warned. Some of us have had good and bad experiences with TCD; some have had only good experiences and some have had only bad experiences with them so why don't we leave it at that. Most of us have 'got the picture' Mark, so why don't the Moderators put a stop to this bickering, its getting argumentative now and someone needs to step in.
sorry about the text type it is accidental its not on purpose but i will reply if i think the posts deserves a reply
That's fine, all we ask is that you keep to the T&Cs of this forum, from the rules of posting to the nature of posts.

Just to return to topic.....I'm well pleased with TCD - ok I've not had the holiday yet but I've just booked 7 of us (unfortunately 2 adults and 5 teenagers so adult prices for all) on a 2 week FD holiday last two weeks of August 2006 with TCD and have upgraded us all to Premium (38" seat pitch etc) and the cost of this PLUS the cost of a 4 bed/3bath villa with games room comes out at over £1000 less than Virgin for the FD economy without villa! With 5 kids we need this saving to spend when we get there! Plus TCD now do offer you the option of either checking in at Lake Buena Vista for $5 pp (free for us because of upgrade) from 7am onwards the day of return flight or they offer a free drive by check in at the airport. Can't wait!!!
hi shelly ive used tcd 4 times now and i have to say ive had fantastic holiday all 4 times and i go away with them for the 5th time in 18 days so for me its tcd all tthe way
We've just got back from a villa holiday in Spain with all 5 kids and were surprised (our first villa holiday) at how much time the kids actually wanted to spend in the villa. I realise it will be different in Orlando, but at least we know that there are excellent facilities within walking distance (or staggering distance - after all we deserve it with 5 kids!!) of the villa! Having a decent villa on a decent community means that we can spend the odd couple of chill-out days "at home" between parks.
I must say that I have flown Virgin a couple of times and do think that they have somewhat lost the edge - perhaps become complacent? But, this aside, when there is a large group like ours going, there is no way I could justify the cost differential and of late, I have read just as many negative reports of Virgin as I have TCD.
Can't wait!!! Thanks again and have a great time when you go....
Can I just say that its great to read some good things regarding Travel City Direct. I use them all the time and cannot fault the service and the prices.
ime sure you will have a great time shelly which ever villa you choose
As some of you know I have booked with TCD next July and for those who don't they quoted £1800 less than virgin for exactly the same package (Fly/Drive) and we upgraded our car and insurance for that as well... there was no choice once we found out the difference. We also got quotes from others as well but the nearest one was £800 more, which is our Disney tickets at the end of the day! and some of those quotes did not include food and drink, they wanted to charge extra for this!!!
So it's TCD for us, regardless of the negatives on here, at the prices we have been quoted we don't expect luxury... we just want to get there
Good on you katy'sClan - same here. I have just costed out like for like with Virgin and the price for our hols (7 of us - 5 kids!) FD with Virgin in Premium economy (with 38" seat pitch same as TCD) would have cost us today £9,600 with 8 seater and platinum insurance...we have paid a fraction over £5,500 with TCD!! Comparing like with like, that's more than a £4,000 price difference for the privilege of seat back TVs and I could even have got that for another £700 in Sunshine First!
Well there you go Shelly, we rest our case...do we not...watch out Florida here we come
